Hey guys,

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Thanks to all of you continuing to support this site with content, all the users and I appreciate everything you do.

As a tradition every 2 years or so, it is time to migrate to a new server. I have obtained a server from the same provider with similar specs for almost half the price so it is worth the effort to migrate.

I hope to have a working test copy of the site up and running in a couple days. If all goes well I will migrate at some point between Thursday and Sunday. As with past migrations there should be very little downtime to the forum as it it will be a DNS redirect on the old server to the new until the domain dns updates.

I will keep you guys updated with a timeline.

Denyer, the new server is using the same mysql and php versions with only minor updates so I don't think it will cause any major issues with the forum.

Thanks

Cheers -- sorry, not been around much the last few months but have got a few days off this week and a couple next if there's anything urgent.

Hey Guys,

The test of the new server has gone well and we will be migrating Saturday at 8AM Eastern. I will disable the forum before the upgrade so it will not be back until the new server address updates for you.

Thanks

We are migrated now and I already see people hitting the server.

Let me know if you find any issues with any sections of the site.

Apparently someone still uses the RPG wiki as I got an e-mail about it being down. I think it is a permissions thing but changing them didn't seem to fix it.

Can you have a look when you get a chance?

Thanks

Stumping me at the moment, best guess is something to do with ownership or symlinks. Stuck for doing anything else this evening so will get back to it at the weekend.
