Do you guys think it is smart to send money orders overseas, and how long does it take for the letter to get sent? Please hurry w/ response

It's safe. Make sure to use an Internation Money order, and it may be best to send it registered or with delivery confirmation. Insurance may not be a bad option either. extra cost won't be too great

Check teh US postal service webpage for added rates, if you live in America. Not sure about Canada though..
