I have a G1 Blaster displayed next to me, and I was looking at my kid brothers MP3 player when a crazy idea hit me.
Rework Blaster into a working Boom Box. With a pair of head phones for his speakers, and the MP3 player in the tap deck it could work, or am I on the wrong channel?;-)
Had a crazy idea and G1 Blaster
Can't be bothered -- it looks pretty much identical...
Existing custom of Blaster with aerial, though:

Hmmm, would headphones really give enough sound to make it worth the effort? You'd be better off with a small set of speakers.
Your biggest problem would be easy access to the play controls and battery. The latter's not such a problem - you buy a top-of-the-range uber-longlife battery, and just unscrew to replace. For the latter... well, I think an MP3 player would be the wrong choice because of the rate of battery drain, the relatively complex controls, and that it'd only have a finite amount of controls. Get one of those cheap little FM pocket radios - that'd be easier and cheaper.

Cliffjumper may be on the right track or if mp3s are the only option rewok the back to allow a port either the usb ipod port hook up or a removable slot and clip system for easy access. I just don't know why you bother for such a poor escuse for an action figure unless you are doing a lot more to it. Then Again I am a blaster toy hater.
