POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
I have no willpower. Picked up Armada Starscream yesterday.
So far I am very pleased with him. Never was into anything from the Unicron Trilogy, so this one marks a special occasion for me (actually I heard the included comic pegged the design as a new body for G1 Starscream, so it was right up my alley). As a toy he's pretty awesome - well balanced, good colors and paint, and he's got a nice, pissed-off look on his face. The jet mode is kinda weird in my opinion, but that just has to do more with the Armada design than anything else.

Does his see through hollow lower leg bother you? I couldn't make my mind of getting him because of this.Thunderwave wrote:Armada Starscream is...pretty neat. His jet mode is a pretty. His swords fold up and store under his wings. Said wings are on ball joints to give added poseability in robot mode. His articulation isn't perfect, but still very good. His arms are on a hinge and swivel arrangement. The hinged part has an "armpit" piece that is detailed to look like cables so when he lifts his arm it doesn't look really off. He's got 4 mini-con ports, two on his engines/backpack, and one on each arm. While not really necessary these days it's a nice touch.

My local target marked him at $27 but beeped at $13.74. Cheaper than a deluxe. So I got one for my son.Thunderwave wrote:That Predaking is $17.50 at my local Targets. The tag on him reads $37, but the price scanner says otherwise. They've been hyper aggressive with their clearance and, on occasion, it'll ring up even less at the register.

I don't mind stickers if they're high quality. I understand why they were necessary for Generations Metroplex - would be way to expensive to paint him to a high level, and leaving him blank could look bland for some people. I always did enjoy putting the stickers on as a kid, so there's that nostalgia too. So long as they are not replacing painted detail, but enhancing it, I'm cool with stickers, but I'm not entirely sure why they seem to be getting used on the new Generations figures (as far as I see from photos - I've never seen anything beyond Orion Pax, IDW Megatron or FoC Grimlock and Soundwave in person).Denyer wrote:And I hate stickers -- rarely manage to get them exactly enough in position.
As to putting them on, well, as sad as I am I use my dissection kit that I use for identifying invertebrates under a microscope! (I don't use the microscope for stickers though!) I find the precision forceps make a huge difference - especially with the fiddly wee ones, or Reprolabels ones that need to match say sponsor adverts between panels on the DOTM Deluxe Wreckers.
New sale thread added with a range of Transformers including Masterpiece, Botcon, CHUG, RID, Movies etc.
Looking for MP-11T Thundercracker and MP-9 Rodimus v2 (Takara version with as few QC issues as possible).
Check out my new sale thread now!
Also items on eBay.

Ah stickers, funny thing.
One of my fondest memories in toy collecting was putting on the stickers on my VF19 Fire Valkyrie while having a playlist on youtube with Fire Bomber songs; the singer is the pilot of that mecha, in-universe.
One of my worst memories in toy collecting was putting on the stickers on the japanese Prime RID figures. These figures were NOT designed for stickers, and those damn stickers didn't really want to stay on during transformation or handling either. I ended up taking them off and painting my Breakdown with markers.
But I generally greatly appreciate stickers on Whirl and what we see on Roadbuster. These are mech detail stickers seemingly included to emulate the original, non-TF mould details.
And both figures are the right shade of colour with the right details without them, so it's a win-win situation.

Finally got Springer and Waspinator in a lovely package of green. Springer is exactly as good as everyone says he is. Maybe I should get a Demolition Crue to back him up?
Waspinator is a ton of fun - he looks spot on in robot mode and the wasp mode wears the necessary compromises well enough, especially if seen from above. Am trying to find a place to put them both.

Can recommend the not-Jumpstarters, and they're in the sale over here --

Random question that's more likely to be answered in here...
Anybody in the UK bought anything from omegalock? What was shipping like? Their prices on what's in stock are the best I see in the UK, but if shipping is more expensive than usual, then it just evens out.

Got two things on pre-order with them, can let you know what service is like when they turn up. Shipping was 4.50 on one and 5.50 on the other, both largish items.
edit: eBay feedback is good;

and skimming Facebook not seeing hordes of angry customers

Expecting both things I've ordered to be affected by Chinese New Year randomness.
edit2: Plus they list a genuine postal address, have gone through the basics of registering as a legal entity etc.

I'd say the owner and operator is running a small family business, and has the fluency in Chinese to deal fairly directly with the import matters.
