Shockwave looks pretty cool, and I may go for Bruticus depending on how the components look in reality.

The other figures in the line are more than a bit 'meh'. Still, hope there'll be other goodies in there!

Hmm. Bruticus looks as if the arms are connected at about where they would be if they were legs instead. I wonder if interchangeable limbs were incorporated into the design and the connections can be moved depending on arm or leg mode.

That toy is awful. Unicron Trilogy-awful.

That's fitting, since someone at Hasbro seems to have decided to paint it up as Energon Bruticus instead of trying to make it look anything like the video game's CGI model. I seriously don't see the point of going to the trouble of designing this thing to tie into the video game and then making sure that most of the figures have anything resembling the right deco. Brawl and Swindle at least were just about right in the first pics that were released, but everyone else was wrong. Now they're much brighter, Blast-Off and Vortex have totally different (and equally-wrong) colour schemes and only Onslaught looks right.

I'm just...totally confused by the whole mess.

I still think Brawl looks cool, and Vortex would probably be OK with a colour scheme that didn't damage the retinas, but that combined mode is so ugly that it's almost a parody of everything that could go wrong with a combiner toy.

Trick is that as long as there are people saying "It's Bruticus, so I'll buy it!", we're ****ed.

I dunno. I always figured those guys were just cancelling out the "I like it, but everything Takara makes is automatically superior, so I'll wait and order the Japanese toys for three times as much even if they turn out to be exactly the same" crowd.

I have no real interest in G1 Bruticus - he was my brother's bag, and you know what sibling rivalry's like (it's probably a major reason I dislike Jazz in all his forms too). I'm a Menasor man.

I know nothing about Fall of Cybertron, so that doesn't influence me.

So, on a stand-alone basis, I like most of those designs. Only Swindle looks a bit poor to me. The combined mode looks fine as far as I'm concerned, but it's the individual robots and alternate modes that sell it to me. They look quite different, and interesting - certainly a nice Cybertronian feel, and not the standard run-of-the-mill designs. Really liking Blast-Off.

The colours, though... Yeah. A bit bright. Ouch!

Still, I remain interested. I'll wait and see how bright they are in person - stock images have a habit of being cleaner and brighter than the final figures anyway.

Wow, I'd seen the toys in the latest issue of Game Informer, so I was actually pumped. They look pretty bad combined, though. Remind me of some of the Robots in Disguise combiners, actually.

At least the game looks like it's going to be an improved version of War for Cybertron, which was already a pretty decent 3rd person shooter.

I'm not keen on the combined mode, but I still have hopes that it's horribly mistransformed. I do, however, like most of them as individual toys just fine, although Vortex is rather hideous in those colors.
