Metroplex - Generations Sound problem

Post by HotShot81 »

I picked him up by the waist a few days ago to take some pictures. I put him back down, he seemed fine.

I tested his sound system tonight, and it cuts out half way during its sound and light display.

Anyone have this problem? or should I be calling Hasbro for repairs?

I'd like to think the toy can stand being picked up or dropped on a bed.

Got 'em. PM me your address.

If anyone knows to a sheet of the Hasbro regular release or SDCC release stickers, I'd be interested. Although I don't think 'Plex particularly needs stickers I quite like the look of the chest black and yellow hazard stripe and neither the Takara nor the Reprolabels ones seem to include it.

Re: sound problems -- repairs on a figure that (some stock at least) seems to now be priced to clear, and they can point to as being used?

I got a Metroplex at a local Costco for $50 US.
I think he is fantastic.

He's huge and I can put all the G1 legends toys I've been buying and hoarding for years now.

I haven't stickered him yet because I want to do some custom painting
Come on and wind me up.

I admit I am surprised. I contacted Hasbro about my defective Metroplex, and they are willing to replace/repair him at their cost.

Anyone have any experience with this level of service from them?

They're better than average companies, from reports of parts being shipped for all sorts of smaller figures, but I'm similarly surprised they're offering after-care on something that's that much hassle to ship (versus a money-off voucher or something).

I suppose they might reason that customers buying big-ticket items will be repeat customers.

So is the box interior cardboard or styrofoam?

In that case, have you been able to flatten the whole box?

...or did you just toss it away?

I did flatten it before I put it in the recycling bin during our recent house move.

Funny thing, I stacked my Metroplexs boxes with a few others and made an extension for my desk.
