Gold Rot Syndrome.

As part of a lot purchase I did get a Megatron who died this way, but I have an idea. I would like to see if this falls under the viable/good idea, or "Nope, no go for reason X."

What if I used a 3D printer, to print a replacement part, and paint it gold. Would that work?

For the record my town's library does offer free 3D printing.

Just as not all plastics are equal, depends entirely on the printer and material used. You've also got to 3D scan and/or model it. So maybe.

I'm a bit late to reply, but I think the easiest solution would be to part-swap from an Armada Predacon and just paint those bits gold or whatever the color is supposed to be.
