Oscars-who won what.

Post by Jetfire »

As Straf's should be merged with the 1&only thred at the top and dosen't really have film winner related conservation, read and discuss (I mean you Cliffy):

While Chicago was good, there were stronger film's about.
And even if only for best forign film, why the Funk did City of God never get nominated? Best film all year IMO.

Ms Ex-Cruise was deserving of her Oscar, in any other year but Julian Moore was the first amiong equals in the hours. Anybody who watched it thouight the same.I guess flamboyance is always going to win over the subtile.

prop's to Adrien Brody who did turn a flamboyant part into something much more subtile and emotionally fulfilling. The pianist was a brilliant film.

It's a shame Scorsese hasn't yet won but Gangs of new york wasn't that good and displays that the post Titanic Leo is a total big headed sh@te compared to the talent he had in Romeo and Juilet and Whatever happened to gilbert grape.Leo almost ruined the 'art film' and it was saved by Day-Lewis.

Yeah I tend to agree that there were much better films than Chicago out there for best pic...I wanted to see LOTR get it dammit.

The surprise for me is Eminem winning, of course then again, I think that'd surprise anyone.

Funny how going into Adaptation, Chris Cooper was the only one of the principle cast who didn't have an academy win to his name. No longer...and any excuse to ogle Nicole Kidman is a good thing, so her winning best actress is solid. :D

Ok it crud I know, but it seam's everytime Cath wins 'Best supporting actress' she somehow immediently show's chest...AHEM...just why there is greater support elsewhere.[/SMUTTY COMMENT]

I quite like Cath getting it. Prehaps it's because I'm half welsh and feel proud and the need to justify Richard Burton never winning as I recall. And I've loved Cath since the "Darling buds" days. She's just perfeck.

Me neither. I can't recomend the film enough. it appeals to the smarter film goer and the 'action, action, action' type as I discovered with my friends.

The Academy. Hence "Academy Awards", one suspects.

Ah, but last I'd heard, you hadn't SEEN Chicago ;)

And Almodovar's was "Hable con ella," NOT "Talk to her." ;)
