I froze on the regional Spelling Bee stage and got sick. Not on stage... backstage. Anyway, I had to drop out, and a snobby prep won. I coulda won!
So, has this ever happened to anyone on the archive?
You see, I was doin' pretty well, but nervousness made me sick, and cousellors say it's The Ghosty that made me nervous. I don't see what she had to do with it, but now I have to go to guidance for no apparent reason.
Has this ever happened to you?

I intentionally f'ed up in a spelling bee in first grade just so I could sit next to the pretty girl who'd just messed up before me...my dad wasn't too happy having practiced with me for weeks and weeks and knowing I could do better...I actually still feel really bad about that sometimes.
For real fear though, read H.P. Lovecraft, I cannot stress that enough...preferably alone and in the dark except for a small lamp...late at night is good too.

HPL?
An author, very good in the arts of describing scary, dark, damp, goopy and just-plain-old-evil things. Although sometimes his writing is akin to reading poetry on a little more grander scale.
If dark, scary (and we're not talking Goosebumps here kiddies) stories are your cup-a-tea then he is perfect.
Faith is deciding to allow yourself to believe
something your intellect would otherwise cause
you to reject -- otherwise there's no need for faith.
