Post by Sixswitch »

Just out of interest, what kind of stuff is everyone gettin' this year?

Most unusual thing I'm getting is a mini fridge for my uni room, and a bottle of red aftershock to go in it. Woo!

Other than that, it's clothes, computer games, and TF:TM on DVD.

Yours

Yeah, but generally people know what they're getting, or at least what they hope to get, wouldn't you agree?

I love it when a plan comes together... [/Hannibal]

I'm angling for a 30Gb+ hard-drive shortly after Christmas, when prices may be slightly more favourable... plus a handful of assorted of books, CDs, etc.

Comps, burn your XP CD... Image What's the point of CD writers if you can't fit an install backup onto a CD?! I've always been able to do this, even if these days it requires compression...

I'm getting a complete Rail Racer for Christmas and the 2 Jumpstarters. Those trains were the only TF's I could find in stores, and I had to search all of Ohio to get them!

A trip to England, money, something I didn't ask for or want, and a limited hockey line Christmas tree ornament my grandma has been getting me the last few years. By the way, I know some of you guys are from England, what's the weather like in late March?

Therefore you can install all of 'em in less than a few hundred meg for a base OS... Image

(Unless you installed all of the crap that comes with those two full Linux distros...)

My 6.4Gb is technically plenty for me... I just want to store wodges of music/video data...

I got a $100 X-Mas bonus from work, which I will be putting toward a DVD player, so you can say I am getting a DVD player for X-Mas(being that my birthday is 3 weeks gone and Hannukah is over a week).
Don't get me wrong, I still hate the commercialization of this holiday and all that, but I think I'm appreciating the season much more this year for a variety of reasons.

Thats what it is Image

suse alone comes to over 9GB but that does include stuff like oracle (over a gig in itself), vmware and a hell of a lot more programs. However it is an old version of suse so if I use LINUX I mostely use the red hat 7.1 that came free with a book as it is more compatible with my graphics card and isp.

anyway back on topic I am getting a dvd player with home cinema kit (dolby 5.1 and all the speakers)
