So it looks like Reg is going to settle at the same level as the other two books (well, unless there's another drop off next month).

If digital sales aren't included in the Diamond chart then those will likely have taken a bad hit this month with the various troubles we Europeans have been having buying in that format.

...it really does look like it's just the same people buying these comics doesn't it?

At my LCS I've seen plenty of copies of The Death of Optimus Prime, MTMTE and RID #1-9, the annuals, and Regeneration One #81-84 sitting on the shelf.

At this same store I bought off the shelf DC's Batwoman #1-3, 5, and 7-12.

They won't be; these are the sales of comics from Diamond's warehouses to stores, so anything digital or ordered by another avenue (retailer's website, Amazon etc - mainly applicable for trades, obviously) don't count.

Excellent, I was reasonably sure that used to be the case but wasn't if, with the digital boom, they hadn't moved into that area as well.

seriously? Im getting it totally different here.

TF is always sold out if you dont go get one by sunday. It cant be due to a lack of orders cos the store always orders enough for the incentive covers.

IMO, if IDW wanted a good marketing push, they should tie up with the Transformers: The Ride in the Universal Studio theme parks. Sell the comics there.

Well last time I went there he had plenty of copies of every issue for MTMTE with the A and B varient covers (he didn't have either of the annuals on the shelf) and the same with Regenertion One strangely though RID seemed to be the only title that he didn't have that problem with.

October's numbers are up, courtesy of CBR:

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=42165

Comics
191 Transformers Regeneration One #84 10,994
194 Transformers Robots in Disguise #10 10,683
195 Transformers More Than Meets the Eye #10 10,566

Trades:
106 Transformers More Than Meets the Eye Vol 2 1,173 @$19.99
170 Transformers Classics Vol 4 766 @$24.99
279 Transformers Vol 7 473 @$49.99

Total: $194,885.42

Comics are about where they were, except Regeneration is no longer selling many more than the other two, and a good month for trade sales bumped up the total considerably.

November's numbers are up, courtesy of CBR:

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=42614

Comics:
180 Transformers Regeneration One #85 10,569
183 Transformers Robots in Disguise #11 10,399
185 Transformers More Than Meets the Eye #11 10,286
190 Transformers Prime Rage of the Dinobots #1 9,614

Total: $163,063.32

No trades this month and a surprisingly good start for RofD, considering how poorly the Animated comics sold.

December's numbers are up, courtesy of CBR:

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=43181

Comics:
181 Transformers Robots in Disguise #12 10,160
183 Transformers More Than Meets the Eye #12 10,075
184 Transformers Regeneration One #86 10,037
191 TF Spotlight Orion Pax 9,109
200 Transformers Prime Rage of the Dinobots #2 8,284

Trades:
106 TF RID V2 1,000 copies @ $19.99
134 GI Joe/Transformers V2 795 copies @ $24.99
152 TF Prime S2 V1 698 @ $7.99

Total: $236,545.51

Impressive total and interesting sales for the month. Regeneration falls below the sales of the other two titles for the first time, but only just, and both RID and MTMTE stay pretty steady, as they have done for a while now. Maybe says something about the perceived quality of these titles, though the difference is small. Also, five comics and three trades helped to bump up the numbers.

Wish somebody knew how to post the monthly summary data via graph instead of a long list.

Less than 10K for both RID and Reg doesn't seem too healthy (though it is hard to be sure without digital sales: Did a lot of buyers get tabs for Christmas?).

Is there actually a formal digital chart avaliable?

I know little of comic books outside of Batman and walking dead. Is 10,000 or there abouts an ok number? I know my local Forbidden planet includes IDW titles in its independent listings (compared to DC or Marvel) so is a series which draws 20,000 (not counting spotlight) sales a month a good, bad or ok result?

I asked this question about six months ago on this site, and the response was (and please correct me if I'm totally wrong on this), that should sales drop below 5,000 then its time to consider culling the title.

This varies according to the publisher; so if they're a big publisher they may be more inclined to let the title continue despite low sales in the hope the story's got legs and could pick up.

I managed to convince one other guy to buy digital copies of MTMTE the other week, and he hasn't bought a TF comic since G2. I switched to monthly issues (rather than TPB's) since issue 9 since its now something of a crack habit to get this damn fine cherry pie-like comic.

Man, 10,000 copies... that's all sorts of awful in numbers when you really think about it. It really makes you wonder how these companies can afford to stay in business. :S
