Christmas Music

Does anyone hate this stuff more than me? I think not. Its only the 10th and I'm already sick of it. I have to hear everyday when I go to work, and it is non-stop. Then I come home and my mom is playing this stuff.

There is only one Christmas song that I actually like. It is "Ex-miss" by New Found Glory. If you guys like punk rock, NFG, or just wanna hear a different take on a Christmas type song, I suggest you go and d/l it

I had to listen to it for 8 hours a day last christmas at work, so I know exactly how you feel. The place I work at the mo is too cheap to pay for their music license, so I don't have to put up with too much of it this year.

My problem was that my work only had one tape which they played all day from the end of november til christmas eve. So its just a certain selection of the christmas songs I can't listen to.

I like most XMas music. It's cheery and it puts me in the mood for the season.

It's doubly bad for me, being that I don't even celebrate this wretched reformed Pagan holiday that has turned into a commericalization blitz every year(but that's another rant, ah the wonders of being Jewish at this time of year).

As with Angloconvoy, I too am forced to listen at least 8 hours a day to cheap Christmas songs, one tape that repeats every hour for over a month.

I'm with Sghost. I'm for Christmas music, in moderation.

XMas music can be good,
when you're in XMas mood,
but too much for your mind,
then maybe you geat freaky and not kind.

Try "Xmas At Ground Zero" by Weird Al Yankovic!

Also, I love Slade; it's the sound of Christmas for me... not so keen on more traditional anthems, though...

Stifle it, germ. That's my favorite holiday of the year you're speaking of.

Oh, you object? Well, allow me...

Any comments of mine were well-justified, as he's not only slandering my favorite holiday, but also Jesus' sacrifice and the basis of my entire belief system. He doesn't like it? Tough. He can keep it to himself.

1. That's bull$h!t. He isn't. Unless his existence offends you, in which case, that's your problem.

2. Calm down. Lots.

3. It is a pagan holiday, and has been for thousands of years. It was a just a convenient time to locate celebration of the birth of Christ... keep the rural yokels' minds off their fertility religions, but let them keep the feasts.

OK, instead of asking me why I said that, you lash out at me with this load of tripe. Go to hell, S-Ghost.[/heel turn] Read Denyer's post, the one above this one. This is fact, not something I made up.
And besides, if the true meaning was to celebrate the birth of Christ, then why are we besieged with Santa Claus and things like that every year. In the Christian calendar it is regarded as the holiest day of the year. What the bulk of the world celebrates it as, though, is as the exchange of presents because of something some guy in Germany did back in the 13th century or something.
I am a real kind of guy. If something is done to a holiday like this has been, it irritates me. It's the retail world's way of making a buck. Too few people recognize Christmas for what it is supposed to be; more people are sleeping in their beds on Christmas Eve than going to Midnight Mass, I can assure you of that. It's a religious holiday turned into a marketing scheme. It's time to turn it back.

Those are my views, S-Ghost, and you lost a lot of respect from me by lashing out like that, I thought you were more mature. If you don't like what I have to say, too bad, because as I thought you had realized by now, I speak my mind and hold nothing back. So don't ever ask me to keep something to myself. I will not, regardless of who it offends. And I will not beg to be forgiven by you, either.
The minute you catch me saying something that is a bold-faced lie, you are free to do with me as you will. But not otherwise. And since I don't lie, that about does that in.
You need to calm down and either accept my views as they are and give the appropriate apology, or we can feud. It's up to you, but if we do feud, it won't bother me. You know why? Because I am in America, where we are free to have opinions, just like everywhere else. You don't like it, fine. That's your prerogative as much as it is for me to say what I said.
I hope you can be clear on that much.
