Transformers: Prime toylines Checklist

The toyline for Transformers Prime is divided into three distinct sublines: First Edition, a ‘preview’ wave of toys; Robots in Disguise, which featured brand new moulds and slightly more gimmicky toys; and Beast Hunters, a subline imprint of Robots in Disguise which featured a unifying theme of Predacons and spiky versions of the show characters.

The Takara version of Transformers Prime is released with the ‘Arms Micron’ gimmick, wherein each toy is packaged not with their Hasbro accessories but with a building kit to create a small Micron that can transform into a weapon and combine with other Microns – notably, Arms Microns do not have Mini-Con ports the way past Microns have. Takara does not release the Beast Hunters subline, though the moulds produed there were all released under the new toyline Transformers: Go!

HASBRO

Transformers Prime: First Edition (2011)

The First Edition line was plagued with poor distribution, and was slightly larger than their Prime: Robots in Disguise counterparts thanks to differences in planning – the First Edition toys were initially meant to be released as part of Generations before Hasbro decided to make a full Transformers: Prime toyline. In the United States they were only released as a Toys’R’Us exclusive.
