Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Ah, that makes sense. I noticed Kapow have some pre-orders up for Soundwave and the other, more common cassettes.

A selection of old timey sounds... Deacon Blue 'When The Whole World Knows Your Name' (1989) Glorious mainstream guitar pop, less bluesy than their debut two years earlier, this outing by Deacon Blue throws its lot in with the loud FM rock of the time. It's a good, joyful pop record and the one full...

Re: The Transformers Partwork Discussion Thread.

I had a feeling it might go up at least until Unicron, as that's a good capstone. So that's good news. I do hope that G2 is included (and it would be nice if they could feature the UK material for that), as the comic was pretty much a continuation of the original run anyway. The shared Universe stuf...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I quite like the Reflector in toy colours. The patchwork camera kind of appeals to me. Also like the look of Soundblaster. I know its just Soundwave with bigger boobs and an emo colourscheme, but this at least feels a tiny bit fresher than another Soundwave toy. For me at least, the MP Soundwave has...

Chemical Brothers - 'No Geography' (2019) The Chemicals have really found their groove in recent years. I love that they sound so fresh on this. It pumps and squelches along with flair, Most of all, I like how current it sounds, y'know? Good stuff. Whitechapel - 'The Valley' (2019) Spooky murder-me...

Re: New Death's Head Limited Series

Yeah, I don't expect it sell massively well (and I suspect that as with Revolutionary War, it'll sell better over here, rather than in the US, where it matters), but it's nice that Marvel are giving him another go, after years of guest slots and cameos :) ...surprised he hasn't popped up in an issue...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Oh, how quickly we've forgotten Flywheels, Cog, Sixgun, and Brunt. :) I said "character selection", not "accessories for big toys they released years ago selection". Flywheels is the only one who counts. ;) Those three (Cog, Six Gun & Brunt) are funny toys. They're fun, but really do feel l...

Re: The Transformers Partwork Discussion Thread.

After a mysterious email about problems and things, the latest two volumes plopped through my letter box. I've started with the RID stuff, and it's a bit disappointing so far. The careful politicking of the early RID stuff has gone out of the window with Megatron turning up and just going "WAR NOW!I...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

I'm a sucker for Lego throwing in free sets with purchases, so I bought a couple of sets I had my eye on. Lego Marvel 76127 Captain Marvel & The Skrull Attack I really enjoyed the Captain Marvel film, and picked up her one and only Lego set (well apart from those SDCC exclusive things) and it's a lo...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I like Apeface and Spinister!!! Crosshairs looks cool too. Astrotrain I'm totally not interested in as he's had 94 toys already. This is great. I've liked the Siege toys I've bought, but I've not been totally sold on it because of the focus again on the '84/'85 characters who, in the main, have been...

New Death's Head Limited Series

Quite stoked to see Death's Head is getting a shot at his own comic again over at Marvel. This blurb nicked from Amazon's listing for the trade (due in December). First issue is due out end of July. "Rising stars Tini Howard and Kei Zama take on Marvel UK's hottest character, Death's Head, in a new ...

Some bits and bobs I picked up lately from the bins at Poundland*... Blur 'The Great Escape' (1995) Silightly underwhelming fourth effort from Blur. It's not a bad album, but 'Parklife' was so good at capturing that 'Britishness' Blur had been going for since 'Modern Life...' that this feels a littl...

Lio Convoy looks pretty neat. The cartoon-accurate look isn't for me. It's put me off the regualr BW MP releases. I get that's the line's ethos, but I like the fur, feather and scales of the original toys. These are all too smooth for my taste for the BW guys.

Marvel Legends Jamboree! I picked up Black Widow from the Thanos BAF wave from last years' Infinity War line and was very impressed with the likeness of Scarlett Johansson. The figure is excellent too, although the green body armour isn't a good look for the character. It was good enough for me to ...

Re: Movie thread, or; what movie did you watch last?

I still like Batman Returns. It does feel a bit all over the place, but I think I quite like that. It's definitely not a classic, but the bunch of arse that followed it make it look like a masterpiece. X-Men : Dark Phoenix ...another failed attempt to bring the celebrated comic book arc to life. Whe...

Found some TLK Deluxes reduced to less than half price at Toyland...! TLK Premier Edition Drift Fun figure with a quick and easy transformation, even if it is a bit of a shellformer. Vehicle mode looks super swish and the robot mode could be improved with a touch more black, as he's very red in robo...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Funny you mention that - my local Entertainer toy shop has huge window display with the Lego Avengers Endgame sets ... but none of the sets for sale inside. Not even on the end cap that's promoting just general Avengers toys. Very strange.
