Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Hasbro Reissue Starscream Bought this as it's been reduced to a slightly more reasonable (ha ha) £29 pretty much everywhere. The silver colouring surprised me. And is very nice and spruces up what is otherwise a quite plain figure. Siege Barricade I wasn't sure I'd like this figure, given that the ...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

The One Step Changers do look decent - Whirl in particular. I really like the Cyberverse designs (as I did the RID2015 ones) and have been underwhelmed by the toys. They just look horrible and cheap. Boo.

MP Raiden is a surprise. Although I'd be more interested in an Encore reissue.

Re: The Transformers Partwork Discussion Thread.

Placement aside, that's good to hear :) Read the recent volumes and disappointed again to see the Dreamwave stuff looking awful in these reproductions. It's such a shame as the whatever the relative merits of the Dreamwave era, the production values were always very high. And what's with the pixelat...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Aww, that's disappointing. I've got a pre-order in for Apeface. I watched Baltmatrix' review of him and his thoughts are the same. Apparently the white plastic is a nylon based material with a lot of flex in it. I wonder if this the upshot of trying to move away from oil-based plastics..?

Re: Latest DVD Purchases

I love Life On Mars. I have the DVDs of the two series and have watched them a bunch of times. Good fun. Just avoid Ashes To Ashes (if you can).

Re: TF Nation 2019

Saw this and thought it was a bit of a shame that it takes away from TFN's announcement. Still, they've always been honest about the cost of getting guests, so to get Cullen is still amazing :)

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Hmm. Saw this and didn't really know what to make of it, so the above is helpful. Lego do very vigorously defend their products/ IP, and after the recent victory against Chinese bootleggers, I wonder if this stealed their resolve to do something about resale sites like this that include non-official...

Re: Latest Music Purchases.

Babymetal - 'Metal Galaxy' (2019) This is a proper jolly album, still with the heaviness, but there's a lot more experimentation and variation on this compared to their last one. It's really good fun and I especially like the one they've done with the fella from Sabaton that sounds like an intergal...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I've still not seen any Micromasters at retail :( Probably a good thing as I'd likely be disappointed, as the originals I have are still great (rusty screws notwithstanding).

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Studio Series Rampage A lovely angry red pogoing bulldozer lad. He;s gloriously bonkers and ugly. I love the whip-like treads dangling off his arms and the stand that makes him look like he's landed heavily in the ground. Transformation is extremely simple for a such a hefty figure, but I've notice...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Animorphs Marco / Gorilla Heh. This guy is pretty neat. The gorilla mode is fantastic and looks great. I love the paint and texturing. The transformation is clever, although pretty basic. The human mode itself is pretty boxy looking and is improved by the mid-morph sculpt the toy has. For a line I'...

Re: New Death's Head Limited Series

This wrapped up last month, and I'm still not entirely sure what I've been reading about. Various characters seem obsessed with Death's Head for reasons that seemed vague and unclear. For Wiccan, it's because he's so consumed with his own self-importance and brilliance that he can't stop poking into...

YouTube and the FTC COPPA Act

Been watching with interest the developments around this. It's basically the latest round of things large digital companies are doing wrong, that are only now being belatedly addressed. In brief, YouTube has been found to be in breach of the Child Online Privacy Protection rule by collecting data on...

Re: The Transformers Partwork Discussion Thread.

Just got through the latest volumes, which have included Autocracy and the RID issues where Megatron returns and Prowl is revealed to be a puppet of Bombshell. The Autocracy stuff was pretty mediocre, it wasn't bad, but just wasn't great. I think if I'd read this in it's original format of a few sho...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Siege Sixgun Saw Sixgun in Smyths and thought he looked to be the best of the bunch (my choice was between him and Barricade. I should be more excited by the Impactor toy... but I'm not. Probably in part due to Hasbro's confused marketing and a lsightly rubbish alt mode. He's a Decepticon now???). ...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

It's not that it's intimidating, and I certainly wouldn't expect to be putting together transforming Dinobots out of the gate, or anything. It's just that my interest in LEGO is aesthetic and therapeutic; I enter a kind of zen state when I'm following the instructions that allows me to calm down, a...

I've watched the first 2 episodes of Watchmen. Seems interesting and a neat premise, be interesting to see where it goes. A bit early to tell at the moment.

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

TLK Berserker Horrible looking robot mode with some nice paint apps, and a right royal pain to transform. I can't get any of the panels to properly peg in, or get the robot limbs folded up underneath to behave. It's got all the tabs in the world, but none of them in the right places. A frustrating ...
