Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Denyer, do those little ball joints in the ankles actually support that much weight, or does the design of the figure just not allow it to bend those joints any more? I made a LEGO flamethrower for Hotlink using one of TLK Leader Megatron's flame effects. I found enough smooth tiles to finish my red...

SS #60 Scrapper - Not opened yet. I saw him and Sentinel Prime at Target in NH Saturday. So, that wave is out there. That store was also the first place I saw SS Scavenger in a big box store ever, or any SS Leaders in a big box store in a while.

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

The interstate travel restrictions in my area were lifted enough that I was able to visit my parents for Father's Day weekend in New Hampshire. Masks aren't government mandated in NH like they are here in Rhode Island or in Massachusetts, but most people were wearing them. The portion of NH people n...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Yesterday was black and purple Seeker day. Flame Toys Skywarp - I got their Bumblebee a while ago and liked it. I'd avoided their other kits since they all had box art that made their pelvises look oversized. But, it'd been a while since I build a model kit, Barnes & Noble had just reopened, and non...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Playmobil Back to the Future DeLorean - I've never intentionally bought Playmobil before, though I did pick up some skeleton figures at a thrift shop that I now know are Playmobil. I've seen Playmobil compared to LEGO and don't really get it. I guess the PM figs look like large LEGO minifigs. The b...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Transformers Bumblebee Cyberverse Adventures Hammerbyte or Ham for short... branding's getting a bit ridiculous there, isn't it, as is positioning Bumbebee as the recognisable headline. You think that's bad, wait'll they add the name of the gimmick. Transformers Bumblebee Cyberverse adventures ener...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Why worry about covid choking you to death over the course of two weeks when the police will do it in (slightly) less time than it takes to listen to the album version of November Rain? The current portion of Rhode Islanders who've tested positive for covid is 1 out of 69. Nice. Rhode Islanders who ...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

Would you prefer that they cancelled it because a small number of people on the internet were loudly offended by it? Before you answer, remember that the world is absolutely full of right wing nutjobs who would happily engineer the rage-cancellation of all sorts of things that YOU like... I'd prefe...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Cyberverse Deluxe Grimlock - A well designed figure, but not well made enough to be worth US$20. This is WfC prices, but not WfC quality. The bot shin detail is unpainted, the paint that does exist is bit drab, the bot forearms are hollow even though the fists don't fold there, and the dino arms ha...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Got 76141 Thanos Mech at Dollar General. Like the Classic set I mentioned above, it has a sticker saying it's only intended for sale at Dollar General. I find it hard to believe that DG would get not only a LEGO exclusive, but a Marvel exclusive. Most LEGO mechs with fingers have 4 on each hand, art...

Cyberverse 1-Step Whirl from Walgreen's. A bit overpriced at US$14, but pickings are slim. I got a rebate check from my car insurer which just about covers it, so I consider him a gift from Allstate. He's not really a 1-Step since, in addition to folding the torso in half which extends the legs and...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Not all religious folks are dismissing coronavirus. This priest used a squirt gun full of holy water to baptize while social distancing. Also, and more to the point...haven't nearly 100,000 people died in the US? Do nutjobs really think that their government is faking it? And more to the point, woul...

Clay, I didn't see anything in your link about the effigy being burned. Plus, it said the effigy was hung outside the Capitol after protesters walked there from the governor's mansion. So, it's not as bad as you thought. It's just really, really bad. This quote from one of the protesters who said sh...

Re: Robots In Disguise Skywarp

Nice review (as always), but I've got a couple questions. From the pics, it looks like yellow portion of the robot chest becomes the rear of the actual cockpit. But, in Transformation design, you describe this as a faux cockpit, which indicates two distinct cockpits. If I'm right about the pics, may...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

So, Trump said he's taking an anti-malaria drug as a preventative measure against coronavirus. Then, Speaker Pelosi said that's a bad idea, because Trump's morbidly obese, which increases risks of that drug. Then, cnn ran the numbers on Trump's weight and height to determine if his BMI actually indi...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Thanks, guys. Reading the discussion of Multibot in another thread got me thinking about making him with Bionocle. I'm trying to decide if the pieces should simply separate by removing the ball from the socket, or using those little ball pieces with the cross-shaped hole so the ball remains with the...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Perhaps the most annoying thing about these restrictions is going to the supermarket, finding the aisle I want to go down is one-way the wrong way, going through the next aisle over so I can get to the right end of my desired aisle, and running into someone going the wrong way down that aisle. Satur...

Because I'm rubbish at attaching images, here's a link to the pictures what I took: https://imgur.com/gallery/iR49gTz Nicely done. Did you repurpose that skull gate from a smaller set? I think I have that one, including the single gold tooth. I've got dozens of minifigs and kreons I should build ho...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

I don't know if this counts as old, but definitely not remembered. I bought a PotP Outback a while ago, maybe Jan 2018. I remembered buying him, but not where I put him. Turns out, he was in the group of unopened toys under the shelves in my kitchen. I finally took him out of the package. He's a cut...

Re: Generations Selects Siege Redwing

Are you including the nose as one of the pointy bits? I assume "tetrajet" counts the pointy bits as the 2 wingtips, top, and nose. Granted, the top isn't pointy due to the thrusters going there in bot mode. I detached my Nova Storm's backpack from his body, and had a full robot and full tetrajet. Bu...
