Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Cyberverse Thundercracker - At Ollie's for $5. I now own 3 versions of this mediocre mold: Acid Storm (because I didn't have a non-kreon Acid Storm), Slipstream (ditto), and TC. He has less non-blue trim than TC normally does, so he's kind of a cheap Ion Storm. If they do a yellow version, I'll pic...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

I stopped by the LEGO Store in Providence yesterday, as it's in the mall right next to Waterfire, where the city of Providence sets up burning braziers in its canals, which looks really cool. 11055 Creative Fun Classic - 900 pieces for $40. 70842 Emmett's Triple Decker Couch Mech - I'm not intereste...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Vintage Rumble & Ravage - $20 seemed kind of steep for these. I figured $16 since that's what two mincars go for, and these are about the same size. These were the only ones left, and all the Soundwaves from last week were gone. So, I figure I can't wait for clearance like i did with Optimus. Carde...

Re: TF Nation 2019

No yet, the stickers weren't in the box, and he's a bit green without them. So once reprolabbles arrive I'll be having a crack. No instructions either, so hopefully he's a simple lad. Encore is the G1 mold, right? Most of the transformations are pretty easy to figure out without instructions, excep...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Siege Brunt - This is my second non-micromaster Siege figure, the other being Flywheels. Maybe someday I'll get a Siege toy that doesn't come apart to transform. The intended partsforming to transform Brunt from bot to tank isn't bad. But, the first time I tried to transfrom him, the elbow detached...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

The Ollie's nearish me hasn't had anything for TFs for a while. I think they made out with TRU's closing and Walmart not stocking TLK Hot Rod, but those were anomalies. I haven't even bothered going my last two opportunities. At regular stores, I've found: Cyberverse Warrior Slipstream - This is a r...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I mean, I know you're joking... but are you? I certainly hope so. I'm just glad those TR boxsets with the clones didn't pan out. If they'd sold well enough to do all 4, we'd probably get each Seacon in a different boxset with Cyberverse figures repainted into original characters that don't appear i...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Vintage Optimus Prime Walmart finally clearanced these down to $25, which was enough for me to bite. I'm still trying to decide if I'll put his stickers on or not. The extended holes in his hands look a bit awkward when he's not holding a weapon. fortunately, they gave him another, slightly differe...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

And here's Generations Piranacon in gray prototype . Looks like all six Seacons are present and the weapon mode for the combiner is retained. <sigh> How much? The way things are going, I'm guessing they won't be much (if any) more than regular retail, but they will all be store exclusives at differ...

I see the Attachments tab next to the Options tab below the text entry field here in the Reviews subforum, but not here. Could you enable it with the 512 kB/image limit? I've made more stuff, but have long since forgotten my Photobucket info.

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I also owned G1 Reflector, and was looking forward to the toy-based deco. I like the looks of the individual bots, and even find the spaceships OK. But the camera mode is awful, especially the asymmetrical color scheme. The original toy was 3 distinct looking robots coming together to form a cohesiv...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

In order of excitement: Apeface looks great, especially the expression/smile in gorilla mode. It looks like Titanmaster legs on the top of the gorilla head, too. The jet is even blockier than most TFs, but I guess in this case it's G1 accurate. I like Spinister's color scheme. It looks like he has a...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

CHUG Powerglide - from a comic shop. He's got his gun, but is missing the missle and instructions. He wasn't too hard to figure out, though I didn't think to extend the legs until I looked him up on tfwiki. This is the grey Ultra sized figure, with Ultra apparently meaning Leader sized head and upp...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I just (mostly) transformed MP-05 Megs for the first time. The only things that gave me real trouble was the left shoulder panel, which kept popping off. I put it aside until I transformed the rest of him, then popped it back on. It didn't quite line up, so I'm using the safety lever to disguise the...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Cyberverse Warrior Optimus Prime w/Trailer - Some Walmarts have clearanced these down to $5, which was low enough to get me to bite. I'm pleasantly surprised. It's probably not worth full price, but I'm definitely happy with it. Optimus is OK. I definitely own worse, like the CHUG Deluxe. Due to hi...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

SS #20 - gold VW Bumblebee & (not gold) cassettes - Gamestop marked this down to $50, which is far closer to normal store-exclusive-price-gouging than the $70 they originally asked. I guess they're making room for Ectotron.

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

SS Dropkick is going to be (heavily) retooled into SS 45 helicopter Drift. I wonder if Drift'll be bigger. SS is supposedly aiming for consistent robot mode scale, which would make SS 45 Drift the same height as SS 36 Mercedes Drift, who is TLK Drift with a new head. That's about the size of SS Stin...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Siege Laserbeak & Ravage - Laserbeak's bird mode is great. But, it doesn't actually transform into a cassette. From the front, he's a flat rectangle, which look good. In the back, there's several gaps. Ravage has a better cassette mode, but a weak animal mode. His forelegs' upper arms are poofy, li...

Re: Book Me, Dano.

I'm currently reading two books. The LEGO Book (New Edition) - A photo history of the LEGO company. There's text, too, but largely captions or descriptions of the accompanying photos. The first few dozen pages are about the pre-brick days, when the company focused on wooden toys, like those ducks wi...
