Re: [The video game thread]

I love the atmosphere of Twilight Princess, but I think I'd have a hard time convincing myself to play it again any time soon because there's just no challenge there. I know Zelda isn't supposed to be Dark Souls, but I should at least have to worry about whether I've got enough fairies and potions ...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Thanks, Warcry. I got a Barnes & Noble gift card for my birthday last month, since it's one of the only stores I'll still go to. I wanted to get out of the house, so last night I took a walk there just before they closed, and scored a couple LEGO sets. LEGO Creator 31112 Wild Lion - I've only built ...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Other soundbites include: coverage of the inauguration is an infomercial, ceasing construction on the border wall is dumb because it keeps pandemics out, Big Tech is gonna getcha!, and establishment republicans are all corrupt and worthless because they didn't support Trump. I wonder how long right...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Well, Trump's finally gone from office after 400,000+ dead. So now the US can maybe kind of, sort of start to deal with this? Starting tomorrow, Fox News and their ilk will realize that 3,000 dead Americans every day is a big deal, and demand Joe Biden be impeached for not doing anything about it. ...

Re: [The video game thread]

I finished the dungeon with the Sols. It turns out part of my issue was the enemy approaching music for that dungeon gets on my nerves. I think they were going for disorienting, but ended up with annoying. Anyway, I turned the volume way down on my stereo, and had a much easier time of it. I started...

Re: [The video game thread]

I'm almost done replaying Twilight Princess . I'm at the beginning of the Palace of Twilight, where you have to steal the Sols from the Wallmasters/Zant's Hands. It's the only non-optional thing in the game I truly hate. I even keep a save file from just after placing the second Sol so I can skip it...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Problem we've got in this country is that trust in politicians is at an all-time low. That and our governments continued insistence of running everything centrally in London (and, for the last 30 years or more, placing more emphasis on the well being of everyone inside the M25), instead of allowing...

Re: Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays (delete as applicable)

Merry, if boring, Christmas. Usually, I spend a week or two in New Hampshire visiting family. Instead, I got a call from my parents on Christmas. Then, I opened my presents while listening to Jonee Earthquake's* Christmas CD. It's got 16 songs proper, then a bunch of alternate takes and remixes. So,...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Thanks for the links and pics, Clay. After my last post, I folded Scab's red bracket thingies down to press against the rear wheel combo. This solves the shoulder wobble problem, which also puts the left shoulder in a position to support the two Deluxes well enough. Between that, and curing the fing...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Christmas gifts: SS Leadfoot - He's a head shorter than the DotM deluxes of Topspin and Roadbuster. But, he's also much beefier and has a larger head. And, they're the same size in vehicle mode. At least I think so. I forgot how to do Topspin's arms and gave up on transforming him. But, his bumper-t...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Earthrise Runamuck ...Transformation is really cool and I like the look of the vehicle mode...but it doesn't roll because the plastic clip on wheels are garbage. I hate these things. Such an obvious cost cutting measure, but it means all your vehicular Transformers just don't play well. Boo. I know...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

So, despite me telling my parents that RI residents can't socialize outside our households, and people coming from NH have to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival, they plan to stop by tomorrow to drop off my Christmas presents. They left a message, "we'll wear our masks and we won't stay long". Now ...

Re: Boxes and boxes and boxes...

I keep a few boxes that look nice, including the TRU reissue ones you mentioned, the few MPs I have, and I think the Alternators boxes are in my attic. Mostly, it's figures I plan to be extra careful with when moving, and want to protect. However, I did find the packages for some Micromaster combine...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Behold the glory of G1 toy-based Jetfire ! I generally have more nostalgia for the toys than the show, and have been kind of bummed that the Jetfire toys homage the latter. Even when they have the masked face, they still have the wings out Seeker style instead of folding away G1 toy style. This is t...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

NZ also has a sensible, intelligent and socially aware population. True. But, I wonder how differently things would've played out in the U.S. if Trump had embraced masks and distancing wholeheartedly. Would his followers have gone along, resulting in much higher compliance with CDC guidelines and l...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

We're number 1! We're number 1! Rhode Isand now has the highest rate of new covid infections in the world. It seems to be driven by high density areas in the center and north west of the state, especially lower income neighborhoods where multiple generations live in the same home, and few sparsely p...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Is online grocery order/pickup an option at all for you two? Online shopping is pretty much off the table for me since I don't have a credit card. I've tried applying twice in the past couple years, different companies, and was rejected both times without being told why. I got my credit report and ...

Re: [The video game thread]

I just finished replaying Ocarina of Time this afternoon. I'd thought about playing more after beating Ganon, to find the last few Skulltulas and Heart Pieces. But, I've been looking for them for a while with no luck. I could use a guide, but that means I'd have to remember which ones I've already f...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Earthrise Smokescreen - From Aldi's, since I'm still avoiding Walmart. They had all the wave 2 Deluxes, at a couple bucks cheaper than Walmart, and this is the only one I liked. He's got the same issues as Blustreak. His right fist is too small to hold his weapon. His left shoulder slot isn't quite...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

I knew it was getting worse here, but not enough that it'd be making the news in other states with their own problems. We were originally going to set up 3 field hospitals, then reduced that to 1 when things started looking up a few months ago. Now, we're opening 2. Personally, I don't think I'm at ...
