Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Maybe Studio Cell can take a crack at Arcee. I knew the Cyberverse toy had a backpack. I just expected some effort be put into compacting it. The rear wheels fold into the cockpit, but that just means the cockpit sticks out farther behind the bot. Plus, the transformation puts quite a bit of stress ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

SS '86 Sweep - I may have seen Scourge in store once, didn't get him. Now that I have Cyclonus, this guy seemed more appealing. I'm still not interested in Kingdom Galvatrom, though. The old Energon figure will do nicely. Cyberverse Arcee - Another figure I passed on at $20 (with Maccaddam part) bu...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Pretty much all of them wound up trashed thanks to burst O-rings or the like, but my little boy has a Battle Cat and Panthor (and maybe King Hiss?) in one of his toy boxes along with a few really beat up Super Powers toys. You can get replacement leg bands for vintage figures quite easily on eBay. ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Core Class Soundwave - He's pretty great for what he is, a $10 3-inch G1 Soundwave. I've already transformed him back and forth more times than I have Netflix Soundwave. The small size works really well for what's a pretty simple design. Plus, larger figures can carry him around on one shoulder, li...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Dollar General has 20% LEGO this weekend. I got: 31113 Race Car Transportation - The two F1 racers are cute. The transport truck less so, but it comes with some interesting pieces, including some triangular tiles. They're isosceles right triangles, with the two shorter sides each being two studs lon...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

I got my booster Saturday. Providence has an event called Watetfire, where they light around 100 braziers in the Provicence river a few times a year. Normally, there's vendors and food trucks. This year, there's a covid vaccine distribution and testing test. No appointment needed, and it was already...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I finally opened my Cyberverse Seeker 4-Pack . It's 4 copies of a very simple mold that I already own, so there's not a whole lot of excitement from the transformation. They look great, though, especially the clearish ones. Rather than having a black head and mainly grey torso, Thundercracker is blu...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I haven't purchased anything since my last post, but have been making my way through my pile of unopened stuff. Kingdom Wheeljack doesn't roll or transform as well as Exhaust. He looks good, but if I want to play with the mold, I'll grab the eveil twin. Cyberverse Thunderhowl looks like he'll be ano...

Re: Cyberverse/Bumblebee Dinobots

I'm looking forward to that Snarl. My MP Grimlock is currently commanding Energon Swoop, Bayverse Sludge (G1 colors), and Animated Slag (offically names Snarl, but it's the triceratops). He's been needing a stegosaurus Snarl for a while now, and this one looks good. Actually, Sludge and Slag look go...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Kingdom Cyclonus - I'd passed on this guy before, regretted it a bit, and happened to see him again, and corrected my error. SS 86 Wreck-Gar - I'd heard this guy was short packed with SS Thrust, which I believe, since I've seen close to 20 Thrusts in various stores, but only this one Wreck-Gar. His...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Denyer - Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I didn't realize they wouldn't fit. Cyberverse Energon Amor Ramjet - He's a head taller and much bulkier than the Warrior Cyberverse Seekers, so he doesn't look out of scale next to them. He's just the big guy. Transformation is similar to Cyberbatallion Je...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I'd just pulled Siege Crosshairs off the shelf, for the first time in months, about an hour before seeing Denyer's mods. My first though is have you considered using smooth tiles for the hubcaps instead of studded ones. But, these might actually looks better. I'd grabbed Crosshairs because I wanted ...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

1,200 bricks for $50 and a brief existential crisis is a pretty good deal. Do you use https://www.bricklink.com/ ? Now officially owned by LEGO. You can upload part lists (and those can be exported from LDD etc or some third-party instructions come with them) and it'll help break them down into ord...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I had no idea Trypticon was so much shorter than Metroplex. I assume the tail gives them similar mass. I went through the rest of the Worlds Collide set. I like Nemesis Primal more than I thought I would. I was never big on a humanoid turning into an ape, since the modes don't seem inherently differ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I started making my way through the Worlds Collide set. First up, Fangry . I accidentally snipped a bit of one of the tabs that hold his bot legs together in beast mode. Fortunately, it's only visible from the back. It's not the stupidest way I've damaged a figure while removing it from the packagin...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

76199 Carnage - I bought the Maximum Carnage video game back in the 90s because Green jello did the soundtrack. I don't actually have much for Carnage comics. $60 for 546 pieces is a bit more than average. I didn't like the look that much until I put the stickers on. When applying stickers to the e...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I opened SS #72 Starscream today, the Tetrajet from Bumblebee . I can't decide if the altmode is so bad it's good, or just bad. The legs tab into the backs of the shoulder pilons, but not where you'd expect them to. The legs have a bit of a bulge at the ankles for a hinge. You might think the angles...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Leaving Afghanistan was going to be a shitshow no matter what. If someone wants to argue that Biden's decisions made the difference between shit with little bits of undigested corn in it versus shit without, maybe they have a point. But, it's still better than another 20 years of constipation. We sp...

Re: Human being roll call

Part of the issue for me is that TFs just aren't as much of a factor if my life as they used to be, so I have less to talk about here. Don't get me wrong, I still like the little buggers, and have not outgrown them at all. But, with the pandemic still going, I'm not going on toy runs as much as I us...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

The link I posted Jun 27 said 57.4% of RIers were fully vaccinated. This says today, 62.3% are fully vaccinated. That's 4.9% in a month and a half, or around 3.3% per month. At this rate, it'll take a coule months to reach 70%, and 5 or 6 months to reach 80%. I'm not sure when herd immunity kicks in...
