Re: [The video game thread]

I'm going through sports withdrawal, so I grabbed MLB The Show 19 (on sale for around $20 since this year's game just game out). It's pretty fun. The graphics and player likenesses are really good, especially compared to the mediocrity of EA's NHL series. So is the audio commentary, though I'll prob...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

I know it doesn't help, but right now people like Hound who are going to work at grocery stores are about the only thing keeping us from even worse mass panic and hording. I hope customers are at least being respectful and keeping their distance, but if my shopping on Sunday is any indication there'...

Re:

Must admit it was pretty amazing to hear Macron say "la santé n'a pas de prix" (can't put a price on health) during his televised speech - seems like it wasn't more than a month beforehand that hospital staff were on strike over budget cuts and wages. Not to sound like a conspiracy nut, but didn't ...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

The WHO is launching a global mega-trial for four different treatments that anecdotally seem to cure patients with COVID-19 symptoms. The smaller-scale trials I've read about so far all seem to have gone quite well: 70% or greater cure rates inside of a week, albeit on small sample sizes. If that pl...

Amid the frenzy of events, more thoughtful Tories have concluded that the decisions taken last week will change three key aspects of the way the world works. One said: “One is the debate around globalisation. Is Trump right that we just need to build bigger walls, or is Gordon Brown right that glob...

I tried to PM you, but don't know how to make messages leave my Outbox.
It's confusing, but on this software PMs don't leave your Outbox until the person you sent to to actually reads them.

That one's caught my eye too.

Another that I took note of was Thunderhowl.

In general, with the two big lines at retail being devoted to G1 and Bay nostalgia, anything that isn't a verbatim redo of an existing character is pretty cool right now.

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

All the respect in the world for Hound and anyone else working retail right about now. The way people are going crazy, I can only imagine how NOT fun the job must be. Even over and above the threat of disease. We have to shop for groceries tomorrow and I'm dreading it. Can't imagine being in that en...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Also do you think Ultra Magnus ought to be included on this shelf or no? I feel like there isn't a sufficiently "Marvel UK" Magnus toy to merit a spot in that shelf. I've always wanted a Magnus toy that looks like Geoff Senior and co. art, but cartoon Magnus is the one who always gets the love. Or ...

Some pics! I love taking pictures of this bright SOB. My only complaint is that it's pretty tough to get his eyes in the shot. And that's actually pretty funny because they jump out like you wouldn't believe in person. I think his brow might have a bit of a downward slant to it? https://i.imgur.com/...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

My employer closed all it's offices as of today, so we're all working at home. So far, it's about as effective as you'd expect -- the half-dozen of us who are tech-savvy are fine, while everyone else is running around with their hair on fire, begging our overworked IT (or me) for help. edit: Also, h...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

I read that Medium article earlier and it's depressing as hell. It's rare that I read a news article that out-bleaks my own world view but that managed it. Sadly, I can't think of a thing to criticise. Some of the numbers are guesswork but the underlying math makes sense. The economy is already fuck...

Re: Figures that could make a good Xaaron?

Rung, Impactor, Rack'n'Ruin, Macaddam...lots of comic-original characters are getting love recently. Straxus was a long time ago now but it's probably safe to say that Xaaron is the most prominent one left without a toy. Though I guess some youngsters would say Tarn or Pharma (and I'd be happy to se...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

What I'm experiencing is a strange mix of over- and -underreaction. You have people nonsensically hoarding toilet paper or pointlessly wearing facemasks everywhere, but the parking lots for all the restaurants and malls I went past on the way home today were all packed with cars. It's like most folk...

Re: Figures that could make a good Xaaron?

Honestly, wih the way Hasbro is going there's probably going to be an official option before we know it... I know the original character model was Megatron with the serial numbers filed off, but TBH the first time I met the character (in the late run of the US Marvel book) my first thought was "Why ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I absolutely adore Rung's angry eyebrows. In spite of the tiny size, I think Hasbro captured the spirit of the character realy well. Sadly, I haven't seen one in person so I'll have to hope to run into the Earthrise release.

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I got a Toys'R'Us gift card for my birthday, so I took my son shopping! He got a cement mixer and I found Earthrise Hoist . Honestly, I was more hoping to see an Ironworks or luck into finding Ratbat and Rumble, but I really didn't see much other than Siege wave 1 leftovers, aside from this guy. I r...

I'm entirely too jealous of your Ratbat. :( I had a couple things show up in the mail yesterday, though none of them are anywhere as cool as a Ratbat! Earthrise Military Patrol: A neat little pair of military vehicles. Bombshock reuses a few parts from Big Shot (shoulder joints, gun barrel and heels...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

It would be nice if this place had a bit more traffic, for sure! I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to how we'd go about getting folks here, though. Nowadays people seem to gravitate towards shouting into the void that is Twitter or big, overpopulated forums like TFW, and I just can't see the attr...
