Re: Dalek and Warcry's Endless Star Trek Thread

Picard trailer!

I'd watch ten episodes of him making wine tbh.

Re: Avengers : Endgame

I'm not remotely up to date, but I loved it. What Marvel have achieved is one of those things that's only going to look more impressive as time goes on and more attempts to copy it fail and die on the vine. Even I got emotional during the final battle. I now want a Goodnight Sweetheart remake about ...

Re: Movie thread, or; what movie did you watch last?

Hornet! A film about a yellow alien robot found by some teens, helping to save the world.

Something very familiar about all that.

It has the most amazing ending of any film ever:

Re: So...are the Hasbro crossovers relevant?

I don't think anyone gave much of a hoot about the crossovers. MTMTE/LL work fine without them, OP/Unicron are nice interpretive performance art if you've not read them.

Re: Latest Music Purchases.

Picked up some record store day stuff last week! Inlcuding: Spellbound soundtrack. Not a "Everyone can hum it" Hitchcock score, but still a nice olde full orchestra effort. Star Trek 09 soundtrack: Fucking rocks dudes. Such great fun big music. Transformers 1-3 soundtracks: Sadly not the scores (may...

I'm actually amazed they haven't put the Bumblebee soundtrack out on vinyl. It's so ridiculously appropriate.

Re: Nuance in the Noise: an essay by Clay

Top work chief! I'd personally say I don't think Prime's film character actually changes that much. He's very much the pragmatic front line soldier, who won't go OTT like Megatron but will take out any threat cleanly and quickly. The difference is, Sector 7 in the first film are not that much of a t...

Re: Who's buying all these Funko Pops?

I've gotten the Bond ones because Bond collectables start at two foot dolls wearing real clothes with skin scraped from Sean Conerry's foot and priced at $500.

On the other hand, I picked up the Bond From Dr. No (which seems to have been a rare exclusive?) Pop for £8 this week. Bang.

Re: Transformers (2019-?) #1 [SPOILERS]

I still enjoyed it, despite you making some very good points, especially about the odd reaction to the murder. I guess I'm just enjoying the amiable meander through Cybertron at the moment. A lot will depend on how the story plays out though. Calling Wheeljack as the killer. Someone with at least th...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

POTP Outback! Quite good fun, despite it feeling like 80% of the vehicle mode is that shield stuck on his back to hide the legs. Siege Roadhandler and Swindler! The limbs pop off these new Micros way to easily, I don't think you can transform them without bits going flying. And my Roadhandler came o...

Re: Book Me, Dano.

John Leven's autobiography is pleasingly mental. I think my favourite part is his claiming with a straight face he was offered the part of Picard's brother in Family, but couldn't sort a green card. Just imagine Patrick Stewart, doing that emotional crying trauma scene, sat opposite Sgt. Benton from...

Re: Transformers (2019-?) #1 [SPOILERS]

Generally speaking, I liked it a lot. It was nice and eerie and whilst largely just characters talking, it was good talking. Maybe it didn't hit the ground as hard as MTMTE 1, but that was a creative team that had built up to it through prior TF work, Ruckley is getting his feet under the table here...

New Micromsaster Stakeout and Redhot:

Nice, but the limbs fly off if you look at them.

POTP Punch/Counterpunch: OK, now this is huge fun, with a really nice transformation, even before you get to the gimmick. And I seem to have gotten one with the arms the right way round!

Re: The Transformers Partwork Discussion Thread.

It's from the IDW remastering.

I'm impressed by the fact that, despite it clearly being the bigger and more important story, neither the back cover blurb nor the introduction make any mention of the Underbase saga.

Re: Latest DVD Purchases

Finished my first watch of everything that exists for Callan. Edward Woordward ACTING for the win. The film was an interesting experience as it's a remake of the pilot, but twice as long. So you get awkward padding like a moment in the original where Lonely goes to get Callan a gun and comes back wi...

Re: Decepticons Wives and Babies in The Victory Comic

One of those things that probably makes more sense in context, that's hard to get as riled up about as fandom used to considering how much more varied and nuanced relationships and family are in the franchise now as a whole.
