Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

They did knockoffs (pretty decent quality) including the packaging but did clearly label, so you'd know if it was one of theirs --

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Punch/Counterpunch This is the repaint of the Sideswipe/Sunstreaker CHUG mold. I was dissapointed this guy was a club exclusive when he came out. I haven't taken him out of the box yet, though the box was already open. The club one or the CHMS remake? Not a bad mould apart from the head being a lit...

Re: Custom Siege Pinpointer (or: babby's first dye job)

The Juniors are close to deluxe size, anyway, so the proportions are okay. It works surprisingly well on the originals too, judging by Skullcruncher -- the original HM head was so oversized that the TR is more proportionate. In all cases the sockets are going to need a bit of padding though. The ove...

Neat. Are you going to do bigger wheels as well? https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/siege-crosshairs-big-wheels.1185806/ https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/siege-crosshairs-big-wheels-2-0.1186320/ https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/siege-crosshairs-lego-wheels.1185965/ Kind of tempted to...

Re: Your Review On The IDW2

Some neat world-building and art, the Nautica one-shot at the end of the first run of issues being a particular highlight. Not gripping enough to work as individual issues.

Re: Hello

I don't think Cliffy's gotten around to replacing a PC that failed a couple of years back, but his other half's on Facebook. As is Auros. Hound and Sades are still around a bit. Site's still just about functional, although I could do with getting the incremental updates to the forum software done ag...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Really my only complaint is that they feel a bit incomplete without Meltdown, Half-Track, Vanquish and Fireshot to hang out with. But I guess that's my complaint with all the Micromasters, since (with a very few notable exceptions) they were always characterized more as teams than individuals. Mmm,...

Had forgotten Scorponok had been confirmed... https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/earthrise-titan-class-scorponoks-head-to-be-based-on-rebirth-cartoon/44202/ Probably pass. Would be more interested in a pre-Siege leader class one. Snapdragon, Runamuck, Astro Squad (hopefully another MM comb...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Mmm, dino base guy ended up with Metroplex and base mode Fort Max with micro-scale stuff, due to the size, but if memory serves I did get the original Flywheels close enough that Trypticon was basically the accessory. Not having a strong sense of smell is definitely a blessing with cats. And not dis...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

The LL IDW shelf is one thing I haven't put back out since moving, funnily enough. Pretty much everything else is Marvel or toy inspired. IDW was... mostly fun, I guess? Added a lot to the mythos. But it doesn't have the connection of Earthforce with several years of lines muddled together, or those...

Re: Happy Holidays fellow humans

Here's hoping that everyone's kids are happy with what Santa brings! My son was so excited today that he was literally bouncing off the walls by bedtime. Yeah, kids and grandparents time. I think I've got a second nephew due not far into next year but as all of our kids have paws, scales or a shell...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

They lost certain key legal arguments when we were kids, and patents for a lot of parts have passed the 20 year expiry so clone brands that stick to them are on firm ground as long as they don't take logos or other IP. LEGO can buy those competitors to disrupt, of course, but more will spring up. ht...

Anyone after loose pieces, particularly hard to find ones, might want to order sooner rather than later -- LEGO has bought Bricklink. https://www.brothers-brick.com/2019/11/26/news-the-lego-group-acquires-bricklink-from-nexon-founder-jay-kim-for-undisclosed-sum-interview-with-lego-cmo-julia-goldin/#...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Up-to-date with Micromasters, and the combiner, 'Con cars and off-road 'Bots are more interesting than the first three pairs. The utterly shite distribution makes them difficult to support, though.

Re: YouTube and the FTC COPPA Act

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46pNssn73eE Fascinating -- YouTube and a number of very large/official channels having brought this about by crowing about having huge audiences of under-13s. And supports the initial reaction that beginning vids with '**** OFF KIDS' in flashing letters is likely to c...
