Re: IT'S TIME FOR A NEW YOUTUBE THREAD

5e D&D Ravenloft Curse of Strahd -- great group, quick picks up into voices, costumes, minis, etc. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZsrxxME7K30aQywpsS0rdSORFDn4qmYm Didn't realise there was a prologue and started with their play through of the Death House introductory adventure, which as it h...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

They lost certain key legal arguments when we were kids, and patents for a lot of parts have passed the 20 year expiry so clone brands that stick to them are on firm ground as long as they don't take logos or other IP. LEGO can buy those competitors to disrupt, of course, but more will spring up. ht...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Anyone after loose pieces, particularly hard to find ones, might want to order sooner rather than later -- LEGO has bought Bricklink. https://www.brothers-brick.com/2019/11/26/news-the-lego-group-acquires-bricklink-from-nexon-founder-jay-kim-for-undisclosed-sum-interview-with-lego-cmo-julia-goldin/#...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Up-to-date with Micromasters, and the combiner, 'Con cars and off-road 'Bots are more interesting than the first three pairs. The utterly shite distribution makes them difficult to support, though.

Re: YouTube and the FTC COPPA Act

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46pNssn73eE Fascinating -- YouTube and a number of very large/official channels having brought this about by crowing about having huge audiences of under-13s. And supports the initial reaction that beginning vids with '**** OFF KIDS' in flashing letters is likely to c...

Re: Book Me, Dano.

Where did you drop off from reading them? About the same. Never really got through the Typhon Pact stuff properly, and got a bit pissy about an author being allowed to reset characters and "rest" Scotty with Indistinguishable From Magic (haven't read it yet -- there are claims much of this was edit...

Re: New Death's Head Limited Series

Just focusing on DH rather than alternate versions and alt-universes would be a start, wouldn't it?

Re: YouTube and the FTC COPPA Act

The trouble is, the limited good stuff is built on a deep foundation of bad. And a lot of people have taken YouTube to be a business model that won't disappear tomorrow rather than at best (and ironically) an ad board to point people towards their own online presence. Google doesn't deserve sympathy...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Yeah, really like Sixgun as the Siege representative in a line of CW Strafe, TR Hardhead, and POTP Ricochet (although the latter-most needs a TM to have a purpose). He's the only one out of the mixed two waves of deluxes on the shelves at that point I'd not got and would have regretted a bit not pic...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Received my copy of the Cybertronic Spree Kickstarter album, it's actually more techno-ey than I thought it would be. Cool. Never heard about it, but hopefully there'll be a general release now it's out to backers. Looks pretty cool -- https://www.outrightgeekery.com/2019/09/21/until-all-are-one-th...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

The Aoyi Mech Sai Star Commander KO of SS 38 Bee Prime, which adds die-cast and was less than twelve quid shipped... had to straighten and reinforce with glue antennae as it was shipped unboxed (should've spent the extra quid, but it pulled through). Excellent quality. Currently facing off against T...

Re: Dalek and Warcry's Endless Star Trek Thread

I think the issue is probably that a lot of people don't want Trek to change. Or at least, not to change in the direction that some of the more recent stuff seems to be pushing it. The franchise has always had an optimistic slant that set it apart from it's contemporaries and it would be a shame fo...

Re: Dalek and Warcry's Endless Star Trek Thread

Anyone else find that the sequestering of Discovery and Picard onto obscure subscription services has really killed your interest in it? Don't really keep up with any TV or films whilst they're "hot" for the most part. DVD or downloads long after the fact -- not much justifies buying on physical me...

Re: Latest Music Purchases.

You'll probably be familiar with a lot of the picks on the first two shows, if even I was. The 2016 Dusk and Her Embrace is earlier recordings... not really familiar enough with the one that got released in 1996 to compare them objectively, but they do sound completely different. Both are clearly ea...

Re: Transformers (2019-?) #1 [SPOILERS]

By this point paper singles have lost out because they're crap -- more expensive, fragile to read, hassle to store, don't hold value versus collected editions, etc. Most adults with other demands on their time aren't bothering to make specific journeys to comic shops to catch up on monthly releases,...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Given a body that doesn't have a strong existing character vibe (which is a preconception kids won't be stuck with) have to say I actually quite like the play pattern -- it's a shame there aren't more suitable voyager-class moulds. Needs more 5mm weapon holes though. https://i.imgur.com/ZYFJox0.jpg ...
