Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

If anyone else is following Origins or Masterverse there were tons of reveals from Power-Con this weekend; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOZs28vVcgY The sort of reveals TF fandom would be frothing about if Hasbro made the equivalent. Or there's Pixel Dan's walk-around with some of the stuff at boo...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Legally speaking I don't think you need the clear test if vaccinated or a kid. Although if Israel's anything to go by (and it looks like it is) there's going to be a lot of reliance on boosters. Honestly, Denyer, if Labour ministers parade like this, we will end up with a totally privatised health s...

Re: If you're having problems logging in, post in here and we'll try to help you

How old was it? We've changed forum software a couple of times over the years. At the moment file attachments are turned on for most users in specific forums where it's to attach eg images to go with reviews. For everything else there are still plenty of quick simple image hosts such as https://imgu...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

I roughly sort into boxes to keep less useful pieces out of the way: minifigs, "classic" bricks and bases that don't get used much unless it's for functional things like risers, castle, and everything else (mainly small elements, which is what I tend to use). Similar parts might get stacked together...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Labour are fucking useless and only a few governments have done particularly well, but this one's been more corrupt, embezzling, murderously stupid, etc than most that wouldn't be considered kleptocracies. National insurance hikes disproportionately affect lower earners and when you've got stats lik...

Did you see this the other week? -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2WPww-U69Q Holy shit! Oh man that is amazing! I am so jealous. I wish I had the skill, time and resources to pull something like that off. I've got to step up my game with how I choose to transform my TFs. Load of additional pics ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Is the gun pod from the side of the leg just taken off? Yeah, it's just unclipped and it rests on that ridge. The other bits are Cog parts, and a big gun from a 3P Max (the Perfect Effect one IIRC; also just resting on top). Did you see this the other week? -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2WPww...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Needs Omega Supreme. Nah, Devastator/Predaking scale. The only real disappointment of the four is Ft. Max as the transformation is really boring. Cerebros is a lot of fun though. Yeah, I got Max mainly for Cerebros at the time. He does fold up into something more like the cartoon though (excuse dus...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

That kind of market exposure/penetration for something like D&D is great, and I'm not sure it's possible without the backing of large company that employs bean counters that clip off the fun-but-not-completely-profitable tangents. Not having a large enough profit margin to satisfy rather than not p...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

And also MP44 Convoy which costs $450 comes out in that same window of time! That's the madder thing. Jacking the price of a regular figure to unheard of levels -- the 3P manufacturers would have tried for, what, a couple of hundred or so for the product provided? Maybe three for including the trai...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

Yeah, purely a PR exercise. It's essentially the same sort of item and price bracket as 3P and those companies manage to pump out multiple figures a year without shenanigans. They can't do it on many figures, but keeping a treadmill of them going (with fatigue gaps) for higher ticket items gets them...

Re: Latest Music Purchases.

Thought this was quite interesting / amusing -- people realising that the internet exists and that new music is competing with at least 70 years worth of great music that's available rather than mainly the other tat that would be in the charts if charts were still a thing. It's almost as if the reas...

Yeah, think you may be right if it's the body that's metallic painted. I know I've owned both at some point -- remember the DVD -- and probably saw more point in moving on the limited edition one.

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Cases/illness/deaths rising here too, and evidence that protectiveness of vaccines is starting to tail off (although at least should act to avoid serious illness in cases of smaller viral load). But the consensus seems to be that autumn is a lot of unknowns.

Re: Latest Music Purchases.

Re-found these -- https://www.peatanddiesel.band/ -- from re-watching the Romesh Xmas special. The second album Light My Byre has some great tracks on it, and they've done a cover of Fairytale of New York as well.

Lio Convoy!
Do love this one, he's probably the best of the RMs. If memory serves this is the metallic version? Looks like the same one I've got.

CW Prowl and RiD Prowl -- it's noticeable that the smaller RiD deluxes are very comparable in size to modern figures. RiD Prowl still looks pretty great, is still very top heavy and still needs the door panels removing and swapping to look better in robot mode. This one hasn't discoloured too badly...

1,200 bricks for $50 and a brief existential crisis is a pretty good deal. Do you use https://www.bricklink.com/ ? Now officially owned by LEGO. You can upload part lists (and those can be exported from LDD etc or some third-party instructions come with them) and it'll help break them down into ord...
