Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions
Mostly avoiding anything Masterverse that I've got a Classics figures of (or Origins or vintage of to be honest) but Halloween costume Evil Lyn is a novelty -- https://toyhabits.com/skelesorceress-evil-lyn-v2-masterverse-wave-7-review/ The design work in Revelation is decent even if the scripting an...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
That's kind of what I like about the TR WIndblade (which is the only one I kept) -- that it's a utilitarian design. The original and the RID one are spindly and insubstantial by comparison, and whilst the arms on the TR do somewhat continue that the rest has a bit of character beyond anime stereotyp...

Ah yes, the obvious thing for Fox "News" to get upset about in a show about functionally immortal alien machine life that's been at war for as long as we've had ancestors.
Didn't Cyberverse have everyone's favourite cannibalistic serial murderer, Skullcruncher?

I think you've seen the others. Mina can be very affectionate despite being named in reference to Gary Oldman's Dracula.

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions
Not sure if this'll show as Imgur have apparently analysed it as possibly containing adult or erotic imagery (because it contains more than two square millimetres of skin tone?) Got two out of the three of the Excalibur box set, and at some stage if I get another airbrush might have a go at the oran...

Re: Marvel have got the rights back to ROM
Would possibly be interested in that, if it was given more attention to the source material than the IDW take. Read quite a good op-ed take on Visionaries; http://saturdayshowcase.blogspot.com/2011/10/our-final-thoughts-on-visionaries.html Agree that factoring in a sides-switch for one or two waveri...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Looks a lot better than the original, anyway. And some of the promo pics look better than the first ones that were shared... I've been tipped over into ordering one whilst they're still around and being reduced. It's partly subgroup completism, since I've got Crosshairs and Scoop can fill in for Sur...

Hey. The TF and WF RPG forums are archived, including "staff" forums and I think appropriate permissions were set at the time for the latter -- https://tfarchive.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=57 The threads from the series forums are in the main TF one, with prefixes if it was clear what seri...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management
The thing is, for a proportion (possibly a large proportion) of the 20-25% of sales that are to adults for personal interest the bubble isn't single-use in the sense of throwing away, any more than the figure is. I open almost everything and get stuff online -- but displaying in packaging seems to b...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management
I think they're being optimistic if they think that that'll stave off the End Times for action figures. The WotC debacle(s) seem to indicate a company that's flailing whilst trying to monetise a shrinking customer base harder. Yes, closed box particularly hurts sales to adult collectors who make up ...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions
I don't get who the audiences for all of the crossover two-packs of Turtles are, but they keep appearing so presumably there's a hardcore market. Apparently there's a MOTU/Turtles crossover line coming. I got the four main characters from whatever large and articulated retro line was current in TRU ...

Re: Expectations on new Transformers comic.
There's a fair amount of precedent for "beast" characters in a Unicron storyline with the UT series, other comics, the Japanese BW sequels, etc.

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)
I'm not sure what it is with the DJD, they have about as much characterisation and individuality as lots of other Decepticons but felt a bit too villain-of-the-week even with longer exposure. Re: other thread, If you're after a cheap decent camera I highly recommend old phones and demo units. The LG...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!
Old toy rather than specifically my old toy... Quake came with an almost complete sticker sheet so I figured I'd tart him up a little apart from finding a tank cannon after I'd nicked the targetmasters. The actual black tank cannon seems to be quite hard to come by on eBay. He also got Rotorstorm's ...

Re: IT'S TIME FOR A NEW YOUTUBE THREAD
The way points allocation is now split between the "panel of experts" and popular vote for each country means it's still rigged but in a slightly different way. Yeah, some of the comments on the LotL entry recommended their other stuff. Listened to a bit of what turned out to be a fairly b...
