Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management
The biggest problem with Super7 stuff seems to be that they don't learn (or can't apply knowledge) to using appropriate plastics. So you get hands that are too rigid or don't grip, in particular, or waxy finishes and quite low detail sculpts like their "vintage" style MOTU stuff. Either is...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
A lot of the Unicron Trilogy stuff looks better in retrospect, doesn't it? Largely chunky and substantial stuff compared to what gets released now, interactivity that's also been cut from modern releases like Laser Prime, and the simple virtue of not just reusing the same small pool of characters.

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions
Diamond Select Toys Amazon Original Invincible Dupli-Kate which goes some way to proving that it's not just TF sub-lines that have long presumed titles. Not a series I'm that wildly into (dropped the comics due to losing interest, recently started the animated version and in motion plus edited for ...

Payload's the Longhaul equivalent? Never touched the one I got to round out a mixed assortment of 3P/KO Constructicons but yeah he does look the part in the alt-mode.
Treadshot looks like a swish Energon generic, very Cyberjet-y.

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Someone pointed out Hasbro Pulse have the Transformers Legacy Wreck ‘N Rule Collection G2 Universe Leadfoot and Masterdominus set for £17 plus shipping (nothing says "please help before this stack of them accidentally crushes us" like a limit of 20 per customer). And it's worth that for Le...

Heavily clearanced Ultimates things (and everything else) including TFs, Thundercats, etc. Bombshell and Banzaitron thirteen quid delivered each or the full wave one for less than the original price of one figure. https://www.comicsandcocktails.co.uk/store/TRANSFORMERS-c142287586 And they still won'...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
The G2 trooper head isn't quite a full head, if it isn't clear from the instructions. The top sort of slides off. Very annoying that it isn't simply a ball joint and two full heads, but only intended to be usable on one figure.

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Sounds like a load of inventory has come in at the same time and they're trying to shift it before it becomes a problem. Even higher mark down with other sellers on some Thundercats Ultimates minor characters, which was nice insofar as I picked up a Mandora for about half price (including internatio...

Not something I've bought and Star Wars isn't particularly my thing but eBay insists on promoting this for some reason, and I totally would buy one if money was no object and I had space. Plus if money was no object, one for the stranger this immediately reminded me of. https://www.collectorfreaks.c...

tIrOGH3MUw0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIrOGH3MUw0 As always people are generally welcome if they're smart enough to get through the registration questions and abide by the same verrry limited standards as everyone else. Lower Decks is genuinely the best Trek I've seen in years, although Stran...

Re: World events are doing wonders for my mental health
Thought that the first series was alright apart from needlessly complicating the Klingons, and comparable to if not more interesting than the Star Trek: Vanguard books, but gave up before the mirror universe arc in series two. I really hate alt-universe and time travel stuff unless it's playful idea...

Re: He-Man.org closing in a week
Loose consensus seems to be for invading https://forum.hemanworld.com/ (vB6) and https://foreternia.com/community (bbPress) -- the owner of HMW has been reaching out and inviting people, and that site's been around a decade or so. At a guess, any influx of people at this stage won't cause them bandw...

Re: He-Man.org closing in a week
Mmm. The site thread's into mud-slinging by now, but apparently some form of archiving is still planned. Believe it if it happens. If it's a static archive that should get it crawlable by Google (the current broken state of searching seems to be to do with a third-party "Sphinx" search plu...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Not exactly new, more newly out of box. I was thinking about using Transformers Generations Legacy Selects Lift-Ticket (breathe...) as a stocking filler after getting it from Hasbro's clearance eBay sale earlier in the year, but then I looked at some reviews, and I think I'm going to need to find si...

Re: He-Man.org closing in a week
Yeah, the forum is still active. So the fact nothing's being worked out with other people to take over is a bit... well, what I'd expect to be honest. Val/JVS3 originally took on the site from someone else who's popped up in the comments (can't load the thread from where I am currently) and apparent...

He-Man.org closing in a week
Well, I assume it's the site as well since the collecting resources have been offline for a while and redirect back to the forum (also a shame, the photos and minicomic scans were useful). I think they're running vBulletin 4.2.5 so would suspect the PHP versioning on top of everything else might hav...

Re: Hey
There's not much to really be a newcomer for... movies have been diminishing returns for years, and IDW killed their comics continuities first by accepting Hasbro's shared universe wants with the Furman/Roberts continuity and then a generally lacklustre follow up continuity. The toys have become a s...
