Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

I'm just as keen on figures these days than I was awhile ago, but I do find myself going back to the 2005-2010 era lately and re-living my "youth", so to speak. Not to say I don't get any modern figures [they are drop dead gorgeous] but that particular era captures sentiments, feelings, thoughts......

. [excited Clay noises] Hey! I haven't seen you post in forever! I would like to tell you that I finally read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and now understand the allusion in your username. I always get tickled when reading a book and bumping into someone's post handle :). Anyway, here in `Muric...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Edit: The pin in Nightbird's elbow was bent. I got it out, and now it works OK, it's just a bit weaker than the other arm. So, I'm all set with that one, too. Good to hear, especially since after looking at the POTP versions, they don't have the pins in their shoulders. Part of the retooling, I gue...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I have a junker hoist around here somewhere. I'll see if I can work out how to open up the wrists for part removal. Much appreciated. Let's see if google drive will let me share pictures since photobucket has gone all wonky on me. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1OK78UoAGdHEWVO2w9sI_7TSAFaVu...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

But the amount of "I don't care, it won't affect me" still around is really frustrating. I'm still seeing this everywhere here. And even though Trump himself declared a national state of emergency on Friday, yesterday morning the people I work with were still banging on about how it's a grand liber...

Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

So, what are people's impressions in here? In the US, I see people both under and over react. Most problematically, the people that are under reacting are doing so based on the idea that the virus is a media hoax created to discredit Trump (somehow?), notwithstanding that at this moment Trump's on t...

Re: Figures that could make a good Xaaron?

Looking at the scan, his proportions/blocking seem roughly based on Optimus'. If you had a good way to smooth out the chest windows, maybe a Prime figure would be a good start?

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Yeah, I remember the duckman. That's been a minute... One of the wrist pegs on my Hoist G1 reissue broke off in the socket, and I can't get it out. I can't give him a right hand, because it's broken. I can't give him a missle hand, because the hole is blocked. If I transform him, the tiny stub of pe...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

In the interest of curiosity being certainly lethal to felines; would people still here be interested in trying to raise TF Archive from the ashes? Or is it generally accepted that the amount of dust laying on this place now really defines it properly as an Archive and should be left as such? Askin...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I only connected them the 1 time when I first got them, but I remember Mixmaster connecting to Scavenger securely without any extra help. The instructions don't seem to show it, but that little inch long cylinder on the top of Scav's torso mode compresses slightly, then rests inside two of Mix's wh...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Got a couple of sets of Micromasters in the mail yesterday from Hasbro Pulse (powertrain, high jump, blackjack, hyperdrive). They're cute. Thankfully the weapon modes can be ignored. Funnily enough, they included a flyer about giving me a free pack of trading cards from the card game, but forgot to ...

Re: Siege micromasters wave 5 (ratbat et al)

Gaaaaaaahhhhh, I'm weak. Bought both wave five sets on ebay at nearly 100% markup. And I did this after pre-ordering the Frenzy and Wingthing et al set. Why did I ever buy that stupid Soundblaster...

Re: Siege micromasters wave 5 (ratbat et al)

I have thought of clearance/surplus stores, but it's probably too early for that since Siege is still in retail (maybe in a few months?). The problem with those is that it's an absolute dice-roll as to what you find, so looking for particular figures isn't normally fruitful. I find it remarkable tha...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

Don't much follow tfs media-wise these days, but I still collect/am fascinated by the figures. I still come here because of the people that a) I've known since forever and b) can post coherent thoughts.

The doubledealer is so on-point that you'd think it were fake.

Siege micromasters wave 5 (ratbat et al)

Did they under produce these? They're out of stock at both the specialty transformers shops and more general retailers like amazon and walmart. I just bought waves one and two from bbts at a slight clearance, and found waves three and four on hasbro pulse, but wave five seems sold out everywhere. Of...

Here's Scorpnok, Fast Track, Arcee, and Sky Lynx.

Apparently Fast Track can also be reconfigured into a staff for Scorpy. Neat.

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I just looked up Mixmaster on tfwiki to see if they had the art you're talking about It's in the Devastator collage. Not sure why, but it always stuck in my memory. And yeah, I figure Payload would be the go-to redeco for Long Haul. Not sure about Overload, both because of lack of existing tangenti...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I stopped at 3 Walmarts and a Target this weekend, and none of them even had space marked of for SS Leaders, So, I bought Scav at a comic shop for $62 instead of the MSRP of $50. I was more worried about the all sales are final, no refunds or exchanges policy than the extra cash, but he seems to be...
