Sonic Youth is the perfect candidate for this topic... Murray Street was easily one of the best 2002 releases.

Originally posted by Shrapnel Quite simply, what is the appeal of the Strokes? Why are they the greatest rock band that has ever existed? I'm willing to listen to any arguments, but to me they're bland, boring, untalented and with only 1 real song under their belt. They're an Indie equivalent of th...

Well, I literally grew up with the Pumpkins, so perhaps I'm slightly biased to a "awg, they weren't that bad" opionion... But compiling albums has always been Corgan's Achilles' heel. The pumpkins have definitely made some great songs, it's just that every release since Siamese Dream was a...

Actually, Windcharger may be on to something... Other than mushrooms, I mean.
Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott are both extremely annoying, but so is Tatu. The coincidences are simply too creepy for it to be not true. :glance:

And of course the entire lesbian thing is just a gimmick to sell more records... But most pop-acts use gimmicks to sell better nowadays, so what? Just do what I do, ignore them alltogether. ;) Tatu's music isn't exactly my cup of tea, though... It's awfully overproduced and the vocodered voice-trick...

Read it a few months back, was a very interesting read with an unexpected twist at the end. The dark and surrealistic atmosphere reminded me a bit of Ian McEwen's grim novel The Cement Garden, which I'd read back in highschool.
