I found Beast Hunters Hun-grrr today, and was rather surprised by it. Not altogether fond of the guy, though. It's nice that he seems bigger and bulkier than Sinnertwin, and that Legion-scale gun with a bayonet is certainly cool. But he's got none of the slick, updated quality that Sinnertwin had. ...

Well, finished the series. While I'm glad that I powered through it, I'll probably never be compelled to ever watch it again. It has some interesting ideas, but the execution is wanting. There's a whitewashed blandness to it, which fits with the theme of technological homogeneousness, but it doesn'...

I always thought that at this point fans would be more open to Beast Machines. The unique designs have been replicated with the movies for years now, fans were always craving for more "mature" stories and about a story with no humans and set on Cybertron. But we DIDN'T get more 'mature', ...

Well... imagine if RID was played 'straight' (as in, not at all self-aware and overly serious at its most ridiculous)... and you get this, really.

I think it's simpler than that. Hanna Barberra and it's 'government partners' had a stranglehold on televised cartoons in the United States up through the early 1980s. As more and more companies got sick of having to deal with them, they went to the syndication route where they had a freer hand. Eve...

Yeah, a lot of people forget how good G1 was in comparison to what else was out at the time . This is also true of the writing, where we might cringe at quite a few episodes today, we have to remember that Batman: TAS hadn't premiered yet, and He-Man was the previous 'high bar' set for animated seri...

(Denyer, feel free to move this to toys... where it probably belongs) Starscream Going to keep this one short and sweet. Starscream is, effectively, a remold/redeco of Blitzwing without the tank and 4x4 pieces, the case, and the shootable missile weapons. When in robot mode, he's a little less meaty...

Let's see... I haven't got a LOT of Transformers stuff lately, since locally the stores are in that 'do absolutely ****ing nothing until Back to School' mode at the moment. With a couple of exceptions, the stores have been relatively unchanged in stock since about February. I did manage to snag wave...

Watched it.. and it's pretty bad. Take all the worst elements of RID and the Unicron Trilogy and toss them in a blend. Then, be sure to add the 'on a budget' spice to the mix. Bake half-way, and then release it as a DVD-only treatment. Utterly forgettable drek. No one will remember this the moment T...

http://www2.unicron.com/2013-transformers/construct-bots/triple-changer/721-blitzwing.html Bit weird to be seeing Bionicle / Hero Factory style TFs after all of the Kre-O stuff, but a better fit than traditional blocks I suppose. Like I said, it works pretty well, and it's a bit closer to the 'Gund...

Construct-Bots Thoughts

Blitzwing I got a mildly pleasant surprise today at Toys R Us (The store that never has anything new) in that it actually had one each of the “Construct-Bots” Blitzwing and Bumblebee kits. I decided to go for Blitzwing as my first of this line to see what I thought of it. It’s a pretty hefty box, k...

That and the pretty colours give Doubledealer an A for effort, but the toy still screams 'blue Blitzwing' instead of Doubledealer. You think 'Overcharge' was just too much to ask for? :) Flywheels might have worked... Overlord/Gigatron as well (not perfectly, but much better than the BotCon version).

Vehicle mode is a bit iffy for Chromedome, but that robot mode is pretty damn good. Nice job.

So is it Hasbro's plan to start a new series every 4 years or something? I've been told that TF: Prime is quite popular. Would be such a shame if they cancelled it just because they don't want to give a raise. Or could it be because they want to keep things fresh? Scuttlebutt is that the next serie...

Microsoft's antics about used games, the kinect requiring you be online and connected to their servers ALL THE TIME, etc., pretty much guaranteed that I'll NOT be getting at least that console. I'll just get all their good games on PC and have done with it. I haven't seen enough about the PS4 to mak...

Well, holy poop! I don't think I'm going to be doing a major 'redo all my fonts' run like that again any time soon. As of today (16 April 2013) all the fonts for Transformers are updated, cleaned up, and regularized. I'm now going to have a bit of a lie down... Beastformer This slightly gothic typef...

I wonder if that's how some backyard rumours occur though. "Hey last weekend I got to play with this coolest transformer; it was a huge dragon with wings and snap on claw action, and it shot missiles from...", but occuring in 2011 instead of 2013  Sure, and kids would be like "D...
