Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Lego Star Wars 75218 Ordered this online since the price was right. Very nice model of the T-65 X-Wing, and I love the S-Foil mechanism. The only issues are the short laser cannons and the missile launchers on the ends of the wings. These are minor things though, as I really love all this set has t...

Lego Star Wars 75218

Ordered this online since the price was right. It comes with Luke Skywalker/R2-D2 as well as Biggs Darklighter/R2-Q2 plus extra plates with stickers to make the ship Red 5 or Red 3 depending on the pilot. Pretty awesome!

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Been a long time since I've gotten something new in the realm of Transformers, but I lucked out and found Earthrise Grapple ! Grapple was one of the few 'big' Transformers I had as a kid, and also one of the few survivors of my childhood, so he holds a special place in my heart. This new version is ...

Re: [The video game thread]

Mortal Kombat 11 Premium Edition on PS Store. It was 60% off. The graphical upgrade from Switch to PS4 is great, and it'll be good to play this with friends. The Switch one is great for travel. theHunter also had more DLC on sale, so I picked up Medved Taiga , Cuatro Colinas , and Parque Fernando ....

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Lego Star Wars Duel on Mustafar 75269 My kids and I went to a local shop (more on that later) and they didn't have this one, so I grabbed it from Walmart (sadly) instead. Man this set is fantastic! I love the reds, yellows, and oranges they used for all the lava, and the play appeal is great. The h...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Several Lego Star Wars sets have come my way since Christmas: Advent Calendar 75245 Snowspeeder 30384 Anakin Skywalker's Podracer 30461 Resistance A-Wing Starfighter 75248 Mandalorian Battle Pack 75267 The Advent Calendar is nice, and there's a decent mix across the (at the time) 8 main movies. I li...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

They're a bit late. You're supposed to do those before Christmas! :glance: No doubt! I would have taken it sooner! Since I got the calendar though, I was poking around Lego's website and got a few more Lego Star Wars sets through their shop: Resistance A-Wing Starfighter 75248 , and Mandalorian Bat...

Re: [The video game thread]

Now that you mention it, I don't think I've actually paid full price for a current-gen game so far. Anything worth playing is going to sell enough that it'll get a $20-$40ish "GOTY" production run a year or two after launch and be readily available for a long time at a reduced price. Yep. I haven't...

Re: [The video game thread]

To be honest, I enoyed (and still enjoy) the 360/PS3/Wii generation of consoles a whole heck of a lot more than anything the modern era has to offer. It just seems like there was so much more creativity in those days. I agree; the variety from the PS3/X360 era was astounding. Now I see titles for t...

Re: [The video game thread]

A new joy con comfort grip (red) so now I can pair my grey joy cons with it and my yellow/blue set with the OG black grip. Also needed a bluray player for the basement, so I picked up a used 160 GB PS3 from a local shop. A decent bluray player and the PS3 were about the same price, so I figured I wo...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 75245 from my family on Christmas! A bunch of great little mini-builds on the box, but you can tell this one was definitely designed right around The Last Jedi release. There's grumpy old Luke with a fish spear instead of a Lightsaber, Chewie with a campfire and a coo...

Siege Spinister!

He looks pretty fun, but I haven't opened him yet. He'll be great to have on my shelf with the MTMTE/Lost Light crews. Might have to search for a cheap TR Krok at some point too.

Re: [The video game thread]

Well, Nintendo had a large 'cyber week' sale that started before Black Friday in these parts. Basically that meant that there was a large portion of digital titles out there for 50-75% off, which was a perfect time for me to grab a TON of stuff that I've been holding off on. Not details, but here's ...

Re: [The video game thread]

No Overwatch for me! However, I picked up a nice new set of Joy Cons for my Switch. I debated on upgrading to the new version of the Switch (the regular one with better battery life, not the Lite), but that seemed like a large chunk of cash for simply more hours of portable time; the trade off didn'...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Siege Ratchet (Walgreens): Ordered this one online and paid the $6 for shipping since I didn't feel like traversing around to several Walgreens to grab one. I have the same sentiments about him like Tantrum mentioned. Mine doesn't roll terribly well either, but my Ironhide was about the same. A lit...

Re: [The video game thread]

Nintendo eShop sales aplenty, so I grabbed a few things: Xeodrifter for $0.99. A little retro game in the vein of Metroid. Controls pretty well and the atmosphere is pretty neat. I've always considered this one, but never bit because it was $10 I didn't want to spend. At 90% off, I figured it's now ...

Re: What TV shows are you watching thread.

The Boys is a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, a lot of the post-9/11 stuff feels almost quaint, and it's kind of funny how hard they have to work to shoehorn some of it in. However, some of the performances are quite good; Antony Starr's so good I'm in the process of checking out Banshee now. ...

Re: Review Question

For these types of releases, I don't see the point in taking a box photo. The Generations selects are straight cardboard with some stenciled 'spray paint' looks that are the same for each release. A box shot of that line is useless. If present, like in the mass retail releases, the box art is more u...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Siege stuff, the last few days. Via mail, Siege Barricade and Siege Hot Shot (Generations Selects) came in on Friday. It's nice to have a proper Generations version of Barricade, so I can play good cop/bad cop with Prowl. I think the black on black colors work fantastically well with this mold, topp...

Re: [The video game thread]

Hooo! Been a while (work has been absolutely nuts!) Anyways, several things I've been playing, purchased, etc. Can't recall if I mentioned the original Doom on Switch, which was I think $5. Good nostalgia, nothing special. Plays, looks, and sounds like it should for an old PC game. A few weeks ago I...
