Oh, I wasn't following up on your silly words, I was just playing a hunch. I guess we were both wrong. :) BTW ... back to the topic, I came across " Reducto ad Hitlerum " as a complement to Godwin's law — though I prefer (and had previously encountered) "argumentum ad Nazium" as a play on "argument...

I've adopted a new term recently to use in internet debates: obfuscatarien.

That way I can accuse people of obfuscatarianism or being obfuscationist.

Of course, I'm just a neolexiast.

The Japanese built an early clockwork robot for tea ceremonies to do essentially that. Place a cup in its hands and it turns around before advancing a set distance. What people can't do with a little ingenuity.

Did you hear that Anhauser-Busch is planning to make a beer-flavored Budwiser?

No, I didn't either....

EDIT: I really wish people would tell me a lame joke now and again. I mean, it can't be hard to beat what I've come across.

I've heard about this and on another forum seen a lot of armchair common-taters speaking their peace (from 3500 to 6000 miles away, natch).

I hope everyone is doing okay.

Yeah, slag off the Bee Gees. Easy target. How many number 1 records have you written? How many units have you shifted, across multiple decades, to multiple generations and demographics? How many genres have you defined? http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/aug/02/saturday-night-fever-soundtrack I l...

Your member name, why? What does it mean? Tell me! All of you! Yoyodyne was in Buckaroo Banzi . "Ruru" was my brother's irritating name for me (based on my name) when a kid. For some reason, "Rurudyne" seemed kinda high tech-ish and what-not and it sorta flowed off the tongue. I've also discovered ...

Are they actually going to build it? It looks great. probably cost a fortune, though. Probably not. But if they did, it would. The mechanical underpinnings are the same as the Caddy coupe (560 HP engine and all that) so if it is make in limited numbers expect it would be at least that expensive. As...

If they built cars ...

Recently I saw a documentary where the cause of the sinking was -- again -- the subject. Interestingly, it seems that brittle fracture in the rivets, and not the hull plates, may have been to blame. Apparently the rivets used may have included too many impurities (some are needed to make them workab...

Just came across this story about Hellmann's mayonnaise. Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for ...
