So, uh, yeah. I watched it. Or the first hour and a half, anyway. Then my cat jumped on my stomach, curled up into a ball and started purring. And, as you all know, that is the most powerful anasthetic known to man. So I missed the end. I was pleased that they were running the "fully restored&q...

I've had a public domain copy of the thing for eons but never watched it, mostly because I hate public domain copies of silent horror films (they're so terrible in quality and the music NEVER fits). An extended version came out theatrically this year containing more rediscovered footage, so I was go...

Dunno if its just the lighting in the picture or what, but the green paint on the jacket in the second pic really looks awful. Like pottery glaze after its roasted in a kiln or something.

So for that reason alone, I'd take numero uno.

I felt the same way about that segment in "Tales" where the husband and wife try to use a wishing statue to get rich and have it all horribly backfire on them. I mean, everyone else who was sentenced to Hell by Sir Ralph Richardson had all pretty much deserved it by cheating on their husba...

I dunno about Red Dog, but have you ever read Taurus's filecard? Hawk says that he saw Taurus breaking planks of wood over his head at a carnival sideshow and thought, "That's our man!"

Character-wise, that's not so hard to top.

Good luck keeping him from pooping under the bed, though. When we first got our cats so many years ago, we had a Hell of a time with that.

And, hah, I was right about the embalming fluid! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_from_the_Crypt_%28film%29#Synopsis - Wish You Were Here. He comes and has the heart attack, and is then brought back again, all full of enbalming fluid. I am shamed! I need to find a copy of "The House That Dri...

If you can enjoy a more humorous take on Batman and the DC Universe that revels in nutty Silver Age concepts and goes out of its way to dredge up the most obscure classic plots from DC's 75 year history, then I think you could appreciate Batman: The Brave and the Bold. It certainly has hands down th...

Neo just died. She'd become anemic, and despite the drugs they gave me to get her stabilized and over it, she died. While I was at work. A friend of mine was keeping an eye on her and she started to stir, getting all annoyed sounding, yowling and lashing her tail. Then she took two deep breaths and...

This is only the scond time I've ever had to put down a pet (had to let my 15 year-old dog go back in 08). Never gets any easier. But at least with Zoe (the dog), we knew it was coming because she had been decaying with age over the last two years of her life. Sophie was perfectly normal a month ago...

Sophie got worse really quickly. Took her in and out of the vet the last two days and had to put her down last night.

Which was the one where the chap's brought back to life, but full of enbalming fluid? Sounds like Amicus's "Tales from the Crypt" film from 1972. A husband and wife find a statue that grants 3 wishes, I forget one of em, but the wife wishes for more money and ends up getting her husband's...

It may be that my attention span is just waning in my old wage, but I've also come to prefer anthology horror films more than ever, as some times I just don't feel like investing in a 90 minute or 120 minute feature. And with horror movies, honestly, what you get in a 15-30 minute vignette is about ...

"Tales That Witness Madness"

An old British anthology horror film I used to watch all the time on the Sci-Fi Channel as a kid. Somehow, it isn't an Amicus movie (I had to wiki it before I realized that). Anyway, I just noticed that someone uploaded the best part of the movie to You Tube: the segment where Michael Jayston brings...

Thanks for the advice. I powdered the pill and worked it into a small glob of catfood patte. I then gave her that glob on a dish, held it up to her face, and he slowly ate it. This has worked the past few times. I think she's felling better now that I've gotten a couple days of the antibiotic in her...

Glad your community cat's feeling better. Going through some cat issues of my own right now, so I know how depressing and worrisome it can be. I need to get Sophie to eat her antibiotic, but part of her condition is a lack of apetite, and when a cat doesn't want to eat something, unlike a dog, you j...

The X-Files: Any moment with Mulder in the last two years and second film. I actually recall it going south a few years before Mulder got replaced by T-1000, but then again, I haven't given those last few seasons a watch-through since their original airing. Hard to say just where I'm thinking of, p...

"Titan AE" was made at the end of Don Bluth's decade-long downward spiral. It was by no means the worst of his films from that period ("Thumbellina", "The Pebble and the Penguin" and "Anastasia" were all worse), and it deserves credit for being VERY different ...
