Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Earthrise Ironworks used, but complete, from a comic shop for $15. They had another Ironworks for $17, and I couldn't see any difference. The cheaper one had a leg detached, so maybe the pricer thought it was defective? The red paint on his chest is a bit smeared. He's also got the common issue whe...

Re: Anyone else thoroughly enjoying the Twitter dumpster fire?
And Elon Musk's transformation into an alt-right darling who lives to "own the libs" has been one of the craziest storylines of the last few years. I feel bad for anyone who still owns Tesla stock when the CEO's entire personality is now centred around antagonizing their core customer bas...

Re: Anyone else thoroughly enjoying the Twitter dumpster fire?
If I understand this correctly, Musk's main changes to Twitter are: 1) allowing anyone to impersonate a major corporation or celebrity for US$8 2) firing everyone who could check if this process is being abused Musk has also transferred 50 employees from Tesla to Twitter ( source ). The article goes...

Selects Cyclonus/NIghtstick, Legacy Bomb-burst, Legacy Dragstrip, Eartrise Blaster/Eject all from a comic shop used, but complete. I've never seen Bomb-burst in store new, so I was surprised someone had already decided to ditch him. Cyclonus and Bomburst each came with their outer boxes, but not th...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Titans Returns Windblade found used, but complete, at a comic shop for $15. I was pretty psyched to see this. I was also pretty psyched to see the comic shop, because I thought they'd closed. It turns out, they just moved to a location that actually has foot traffic. I wanted to get this figure whe...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Kingdom Ultra Magnus - Gamestop has all their clearance items an extra 50% off. I stopped in hoping to find toy accurate Reflector, but found this guy for $20 instead. At this price, I'm satisfied. Both robot modes look great. I'd've preferred the Cybertonian single window for the inner bot, but no...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
Legacy Soundwave - With the yellow visor and red trim, this guy does a better job of satisfying my nostalgia than the Netflix version. I even like the so-bad-it-good alt mode at least as much as the box that isn't really a box because the knees are the wrong way and stick out of the Netflix toy. Mi...

Mega Construx MotU Battle Ram - I'm not that into He-Man in general, but I am into Tri-Klops, and now I have a little minifig to go with my regular and vinyl figures. LEGO Brick Heads 40559 Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote - The Block Heads seem to be worse proportioned version of Kubricks. This is t...

Authentics Wheeljack
Name: Wheeljack Line: Authentics Size: Voyager Bio: "Heroic Autobot Inventor" (This is all it says on the box) Authentics has a well-deserved reputation for overly simple, unimpressive figures. Grimlock was an OK value for the price, but the unarticulated, minimally decoed upper half of t...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!
I bought Cyberverse Snarl and Studio Series Slidge today. I also saw SS Bee Movie Ironhide and Arcee, who I was looking for. But neither of them looked good in person, so I skipped them.

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC
I asked around at work about covid tests. The state run testing facilities shut down a while ago, so I don't know why the list of state run facilities is still on-line. Test aren't covered by insurance if you're getting one to meet a travel requirement or some thing. But, the fee should be waived if...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC
Ah, the insanity of bringing health insurance status into trying to control spread of an already randomised-serious-effects type disease that in any person carrying it can mutate into something vaccine evasive, more lethal, that turns out to be the strain that kills kids, etc. Same goes for sick pa...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC
I went to the Walgreen's drive though pharmacy for my covid test appointment. The confirmation e-mail said I'd need to show ID, insurance, and confirmation number, so I put those in the little drawer. The monkey working the drive through window quickly gave them back to me. Then, he asked for my ins...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC
I've been sick since Friday. Fatigue, cough, loss of appetite, a little fever. I want to call my doctor, but I figure the first thing he'll say is to get a covid test. So, I'd like to get the covid test first. I took a home covid test, and it came up positive. However, the same thing happened this s...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management
Acording to tfwiki , Hasbro said they rereleased the 2014 Cosmos toy Clay mentioned in 2017 because they thought the 2014 version was "too rare". They may do the same with this Cosmos. Or, maybe they learned from that experience just how popular Cosmos is, and have produced the correct amo...

LEGO 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine - Found at Barnes & Noble for $200. It's been out of stock the last few times I've been to the LEGO store, so I was happy to see it. Given the original list price of $170, I thought B&N had jacked the price up a bit. But, I just checked LEGO.com an...
