Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Thanks for thinking of me. As of today, still no sense of taste. I called a doctor this past Monday and was referred to get another covid test first, which I did. Got the results on Tuesday afternoon, and I'm still negative. So I called the doctor's office back and got an appointment for Monday. It'...

Re: So Glad To Be Here/Introduce Yourselves Here

Hi guys I'm Helium, new to here. Found this place while searching for the original document of Eugenesis (thanks to the translation of tea-tac-tan- on weibo(Chinese Twitter, kinda.)). Since my English speaking is terrible, it might sounds weird when I'm typing. So, please tell me if I look like a bu...

Re: Revisitation: The IDW Original Continuity Retrospective.

Right, it did. Special cosmic ore, got it. It's really more of a background context kind of thing, but they could have easily mentioned that as a possibility for their presence a couple of issues ago, amongst other things. Glad you pointed out the POV shift from human to robot. I hadn't noticed at a...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

Why am I only learning that this exists now? I feel like I need one. Even with the feet just hanging out on his neck and tail. Here, I took some pictures. https://imgur.com/a/ZokoLKe He absolutely has his flaws - the feet hanging off the neck and tail, the robot hands just sort of sticking out the ...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

Alright, after giving some thought as to what I consider "top ten of the decade" and then subsequently procrastinating on taking actual pictures, I've decided to skip photography and just use links. I've picked these not just for their own sake's, but also to give a sense of the variety of things ha...

Re: Revisitation: The IDW Original Continuity Retrospective.

I remember the rough gist of that as a Frankenstein's monster story, but not much else. Onto issue #4! I only have a couple of thoughts on this one. First, it's a neat juxtaposition to have the human cast exploring an alien ship while having aliens disguised as an ambulance and a VW beetle just chil...

Re: Revisitation: The IDW Original Continuity Retrospective.

Okay, issue #3. Was a bit disappointed that the human cast suddenly turned into cartoon characters by offering to help their giant alien robot friend unprompted. I don't really fault the comic for that - it is a transformers story where exactly that sort of thing is supposed to happen - but until th...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

So... having added a 6ft stretch of shelving to a wall, I now have room to open and put out stuff I've had sitting around in boxes. Stuff that's been piling up since at least as far back as Fall 2017. I still need to figure out what gets priority for hitting the shelf, what gets skipped for now and...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Does the lower part of your ribcage feel sore when touched, but not from coughing? Is there an odd and somewhat uncomfortable sensation in your upper chest, within a kind of semi-circle you can draw from one mid-clavicle to the other? Are you mentally tired, but not necessarily sleepy? Nope, only s...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Well, the fellow at the hospital seemed to know what he was doing more than the people at the walk-in clinic, so there's that. I'd assume the rapid test with poor accuracy is a combination of the test itself and also the variance in the people conducting the test. As I say, the guy at the hospital s...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Starting tomorrow, Fox News and their ilk will realize that 3,000 dead Americans every day is a big deal, and demand Joe Biden be impeached for not doing anything about it. They will continue to oppose mask mandates. Out of curiosity, I flipped over to Fox to see what the coverage was, and hooooo b...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Well, Trump's finally gone from office after 400,000+ dead. So now the US can maybe kind of, sort of start to deal with this?

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

Prime brought a ton of new designs and characters too! Even the ones that were reimaginings of classic characters were usually very different. Optimus, Megatron and Bumblebee were based on the movie designs and Shockwave was fairly G1-esque, but everyone else felt very distictive. And Beast Hunters...

Re: Revisitation: The IDW Original Continuity Retrospective.

Okay, a few thoughts on issue two: I like the thematics of the chase moving from the city to the desert. All of the different possible iterations of the story fall away as our human cast get drawn into the present conflict. All the other distractions getting left behind, as it were. I have no idea w...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

A lot of the toys I've had the most fun with over the last year have been things like Universe Countdown (I'm still staggered this guy clutters up ebay - he's a fantastic toy!) and some of the Energon figures I picked up. Rather undermines the point I was making, but chunky fun things like Towline ...

So I ended up buying another figure, this time MISB from Mandarake. No spoiler problem this time :)
That is how things get fixed sometimes, lol. Glad you got a good copy of the figure! It's probably my favorite robot mode of the Alternator line.

And this one that I've never shared publicly, Convoy and Mio. https://imgur.com/a/IZSdDTi Reason being that this one was made at the request of an Icelandic board member who had recently lost his kitty Mio. He said that he liked Predaking and the Shining Star and wanted me to memorialize his little ...
