Second largest investors in Twitter have started executions of users.
This makes me both enraged and really tired.

Re: James Roberts project news

Speaking of which, have they figured out what to do about the availability of the IDW stuff? Amazon has listings for the hardcover collections, and the collections I bought through kindle have been grandfathered in (they're still on my desktop, at least). Has the digital option for the (many) parts ...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

Huh. When did that happen? No idea! I just went to look for pictures of the thing and saw that it was in stock. Where did you preorder it from? If they had any sense they'd do Thunderwing too, for the same reasons. Yeah, I can see the utility in using this style of figure for characters that seldom...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

The Ultimates Bludgeon is a lot closer to what I'd want from the character, but Super Seven is so underwater in terms of release schedules that I'd be absolutely stunned if it ever comes out. It's out and in stock now. No idea if the price is agreeable. They seem expensive for what they are, but th...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

Absolutely love the Legacy Stunticons, for example. Really great looking figures that properly transform into cars and have nice robot modes. Motormaster's trailer can do stuff other than be arms and legs for the big robot and I love having his warriors posed around his battlestation - just a shame...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

Well, after seeing the variety of new stuff shown for the SDCC, I think that Hasbro's doing quite well with the variety of characters/decos offered. I like the breadth offered, even if it's simultaneous with frequent character retreads (Ultra Magnus again already?). Sticking by the criticism of pric...

Re: Rise of the Beasts (spoilers)

I'll take a competently shot safe movie with a straightforward plot over the last two Bay films any day. :) I can (and have) made a case for AOE, but yeah. Like I say, I don't have any problem with people watching ROTB and breathing a massive sigh of relief while saying " finally ." Pete ...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

The thing is, for a proportion (possibly a large proportion) of the 20-25% of sales that are to adults for personal interest the bubble isn't single-use in the sense of throwing away, any more than the figure is. I open almost everything and get stuff online -- but displaying in packaging seems to ...

Rise of the Beasts (spoilers)

Saw it today at the first showing here in town. It's fine. I imagine this (or a movie much like this) is what a lot of people have been wanting since 2007, and I don't begrudge them for finally getting that. But it doesn't really take risks like the earlier films to do something novel. It feels more...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

Not to speak well of single-use plastics, but the bubbles did do a good job of both displaying the product and protecting it from people popping the heads off figures. With transformers, they can probably keep the windowed packaging, but they'll have to think more carefully on how the figures are ac...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Isn't that just what LioConvoy does ? I'm pretty sure my Robot Masters one does all of that (and has the spinning mane too). This is where our age is giving us an unconscious bias, I think. The Robotmasters mold came out, no lie, eighteen years ago . It also now trades for a seemingly nutty amount ...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

Legacy Crankcase does have flip-out shoulder cannons, though. Catching up on the thread, my general thought is that, while it may be that Hasbro has to make decisions based on information that consumers don't have, if our collective impression in three major markets is that A) they make it difficul...

Re: Grumpy old men: armchair brand management

So, Hasbro's given up on solving the problems in their toy distribution business, and decided to branch out into other business they have even less idea how to run? I love this observation. I also wonder how much of their explanations are over simplified or actual gaslighting. Case in point, I actu...

Sharkticon Megatron How did you end up liking him? As for me for the year, I suppose I should mention (in no order): Transmetal II Megatron : they made a new one! And it's really nice! I have a few minor quibbles with the proportions of the tail and the face sculpt (both of which are addressed with...

Re: Are there rules from hasbro that Optimus and Megaton were friends, who the thirteenth were as well as other ones?

Depends on the continuity, I guess. I think with the Prime cartoon, they had made a concerted push to get the background nailed down and consistent, but it seems they've backed off from that since then. That said, the thirteen idea seems to stay the same since it's so far removed from the active sto...

He curls up into a mini fluorescent Unicron or madball? I actually kind of want one now... Ha! No, I meant availability. He's one of the molds that's basically "free with any BW lot purchase" so it just wasn't a priority. My Retrax basically fell off of the card, too. Are they already sta...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I was a bit disappointed that Skullgrin was a Deluxe because I'd have loved to get one that fits in with Bomb-Burst and Iguanus. I'd be happy to see tiny versions of, like, Finback or Slog or Longtooth or whoever in the 2023 line. It's doubly weird since Skullgrin already had a deluxe figure years ...
