I think most people are really immature at least until their mid-twenties. Immature in a significant way, as in, they can't have adult conversations or disagreements, not that they collect toys. There's more than one way of being immature, I guess.

PAX East

I was there this weekend. Should I have asked if anyone here was going, or was I the only one?

I can't remember if I found it from here or Kotaku first. I thought he was funny at first, but he's kind of a one-trick pony. I have to take him in moderation now.

I got Heavy Rain from Gamefly yesterday and I'm still as unimpressed as I was during the demo. I'll finish it, but I'm so damn glad I didn't buy it. When the whole selling point of your game is that it's supposed to be like a movie you control, but the dialogue and acting are worse than a TV show, w...

My wife got us passes for Christmas, but I really wanted to go to PAX East instead, so I think we're going to get our money refunded. Unfortunately, they won't refund your money until a month after the show, and they're not transferable, so I can't hook you up with my Friday and Saturday passes.

I've seen the Troll's castle, but I'm not about to spend $100 on Lego sets. That King's Castle Siege was a $50 sale item. There's a troll siege engine, but the only two castles over there are some Vladek fortress and Majisto's workshop. Basically, everything to the left of the wall by the siege engi...

Lego Castle Collection

My wife made me some little tables to display my Lego Castle collection, and even though I ended up cramming the castles closer together than they were before, I think it turned out pretty nice. The old Lego catalogs had a lot going on in their dioramas anyway. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/43...

It comes with the soundtrack to the first game on a record, and the soundtrack to the sequel on a CD. It also has a spiffy hardcover art book, three prints of Rapture propaganda, and the packaging is just super classy. Unboxing videos are ridiculously lame, but this one is cringe-worthy. Still, it d...

Oh man, the Bioshock 2 Collector's Edition is the highest quality collector's edition I've ever had the pleasure of opening. So much great stuff and so perfectly packed.

Thanks, seems to work out well. I tried this with Handbrake last night, but I guess it can't decrypt anything. It's still a hassle, but better than repurchasing content I have on physical disc.

DVD to ipod Ripper?

I'd really like to be able to rip some DVDs to put on my ipod, but I'm having trouble finding some good, free software that can handle encrypted DVDs. Anyone have some suggestions from personal experience?

Season Play is this shit where you have to create an account to have it work. Then, you still have to wait several hours for the disc to load before you can go to the Season Play episode to have it resume where you left off. It's insane that you can't just autoresume, and it doesn't make sense that ...

Rewatching Lost has soured me on buying television shows on Bluray. We have seasons 4 and 5 on the format, and it could not be more annoying with their damn Season Play gimmick and inability to start the disc up and have it pick up where you left off. That's not even getting into the bullshit that i...

You can do a lot more on the iphone/ipod touch platform than you can on regular cellphones. However, seeing as this is a port from a cellphone game, I'm not too optimistic. I wish Apple would encourage more demos in the appstore.

I just finished Mass Effect 2 a few minutes ago. It's really awesome that you can go around the universe after beating the main story mission. My biggest complaint is that you can have an amazingly capable AI on your ship, but you can't tell it to feed your damn fish, so they die if you forget once ...

I think ebay's gone downhill to the point where I would never consider using it to sell anything, and I'm not really keen on using it for purchases, either.

The forums at http://www.he-man.org would probably be helpful for you. I have a pretty big collection of those figures, but I don't know what their current prices are. Unfortunately, in their death throes, Toyfare has eliminated their price guide entirely.

From my most general understanding, the third one was awful because of Sony's meddling, insisting on more villains and whatnot. Sony meddling to the point of the director walking away and booting out the lead actor doesn't really have a glow of hopefulness about it. What he said. I'll also throw in...

The internet just isn't cool anymore. Forums are way too full of hostile ****tards with established cliques and in-jokes, and usually have moderators that are either wannabe dictators or lax pricks. Boards are either too active or too inactive. The only thing that's really improved on the internet i...
