I think he is pretty much up for reading anything really, as long as it is easily available in TPB form. I was debating as to whether to recommend him Johns' Flash and GL stuff, as well as the first modern reboot of the JSA (Robinson, Goyer and Johns) but I dunno, he hasnt liked what I have given hi...

DCU Reading Recommendations

My brother has been getting in to the DCU recently after I convinced him that the characters arent all boring and he wants some recommendations on reading material, think hes looking at it in terms of TPB's, mostly ones that dont require all that much prior knowledge. I've given him a few of mine - ...

Smokers Of The Archive

So, I started smoking about 2 weeks ago and since then I have had numerous discussions with each of them, varying from them not caring, disappointment, shock, me being the "last person" they would think would start smoking... And it got me thinking about why people smoke. I personally have...

Movie "critic" bloggers who think they are the dogs bollocks, yet fall over on the simplest facts. One example, I was just reading an article about acting comebacks and the subject of Nicholas Cage came up, and the writer discussed his mid 90's Oscar buzz films, and then went on to talk ab...

What is the opinion people have on the idea that "if you don't vote you cannot complain"? I ask this because, I more than likely am not going to vote, this is almost completely due to a lack of interest in the election due to the fact that I do not believe a sodding word any of them have s...

I didnt bother watching it, because I knew exactly what would be said, nothing different to what they ever say, but did neither of the other two pick up on Camerons stupidity?

Messi is one of those players where I pray to god that he gets injured in the run up to the World Cup, because I dread to think what will happen to us should we face him (and hell, he wouldn't need 10 other players to help) but on the otherside, he really is a majestic little bastard when he wants t...

Saw it yesterday... It was everything I knew it would be, as ole shelly said, violent, sweary and self-aware.... It was just so fun a completely fun and idiotic film that isn't a guilty pleasure, because everything in it is pretty damn good! At first I hated Nic Cages Adam West Batman impersonation,...

While I havent exactly seen much of his non TF work, and of that the majority of it is the late Marvel US stuff... Well... I think his work definitely depends on the inker, which does make me wonder quite how much of the work on his late M-US stuff is his, I'd love to see pencil pages. What I love a...

Life on Mars - Awesome Show, Crappy Ending (Spoiler Awareness)

So, I've just finished watching all of Life on Mars (hoping to get started on Ashes to Ashes soon) I loved it, I thought that so much of it was awesome and incredibly intriguing. The writing was so good that even on episodes where the main plot was seriously lacking (for instance, I disliked the sto...

Time To Pick Your Brains

Hey guys, It's nearing the time in which I must decide the topic of my degree's dissertation, and thought that due to the background of a good few of you (in to comics etc, and a lot seem to be fairly intellectual) this might be a good idea to brainstorm a couple of ideas and see if anyone can make ...

Something such as Burn Notice I would consider a comedy drama, it has serious undertones, and while I am only a few episodes in, all the episodic plots (and the over arching plot also) are vary serious, but the characters are funny. Chuck... Leaning more on the comedy side? Altho that is fairly &quo...

It wont be Gyllenhaal, he looks far too old now, even if he isnt necessarily that old...

Either theyll hire an unknown, or theyll go for a teen kid like the one from Adventure/Zombieland, Jesse Eisenberg... Not necessarily him, but someone like him.

I actually had completely the opposite reaction--really liking the episodic feel of the first and (most of) the second seasons. The last few episodes have really seemed like season 3 being crammed in at the last moment. Basically, everything after the thing with the Senator has really disappointed....
