That's in the first issue of "Incomplete"... I'll have a rummage and see if I can get a scan.Originally posted by inflatable dalek
(I have read Galvatron's supposed to have a cameo in the first one somewhere, but if he does it doesn't show up well in the colour version I have)
EDIT:
Yup... there are several Who references in Claremont's late 1970s/early 1980s stuff, but I'm damned if I can remember any of the others... Mind, surely there's every chance the UNIT bit is actually meant to be official...Originally posted by inflatable dalek
Has anyone else seen the "unofficial" appearence by the Brig and Benton in a Clearmont written X-Men issue where the entire cameo is wrendered pointless by the colourist seemingly thinking British soldiers dress as postmen?

Brilliant! And nothing like what was described to me (which was something like galvatron's shadow being subtly in one panel. Good to see Nel on the colour duties as well.Originally posted by Cliffjumper
From what I remember (which is all stuff from books like the Completely Useless one rather than comics themselves) I think there's a orgonisation called WHO which is basically UNIT led by a non copyright infringing Brig. I thnink there's also a X-Men book written by one of the New Adventure boys (Steve Lyons?) with a character who goes from looking like Tom Baker to Sylvester McCoy after vanishing for half the book (one of the NA writters also did the TV Movie as one of Virgin's porn books for a laugh).Yup... there are several Who references in Claremont's late 1970s/early 1980s stuff, but I'm damned if I can remember any of the others...
Mr. Fantastic apparently has a bigger on the inside Police Box given to him by "That crazy Doctor" but the artist dew a red phone box...
Mind, surely there's every chance the UNIT bit is actually meant to be official...
Whilst he may have intended it seriously (I've only seen the panels with them in) I meant "unofficial" in the sense I can't see them paying for the rights to use them for just one panel (and whatever agreement was in place for DWM at the time I can't see it being able to let them stick the characters in any title. Not to mention the Beeb don't own the Brig anyway...)

1/18: Simon Furman's blog updated
Simon Furman has updated his blog, revealing some details for Transformers UK #9. Due to ship February 28th. Includes a penciled image by Simon Williams.

As promised, details and digressions (as spoiler-free as possible, but be warned: this does reveal a lot in terms of the overall story intent/set-up) on the script for Transformers (UK) #9, the first of the ‘new-direction’ storylines I muttered vaguely about in a previous post (or two). Remember that nice, happy ending the Transformers live-action movie delivered? Well, we’re about to throw that out of the window! ‘Twilight’s Last Gleaming pt1′ (of 5) delivers an entirely alternate take on the climactic scenes in which Megatron sought to claim the All Spark, only to be denied by Sam Witwicky. In the new UK continuity, things didn’t end quite so neatly, and in part 1 we look in on a world now ruled (in a large part) by Megatron and the Decepticons, with the few Autobots (and humans) still at large fighting for survival. Things are desperate indeed as, with Optimus Prime a helpless captive, Megatron begins to transform planet Earth into world where dark technology rules. Can the Autobots (and humans) stage a last, desperate fightback? Don’t count on it. Happy endings are in very short supply in the new Decepticon dominium. Part 1 of Twilight’s Last Gleaming is written by me with art by Simon Williams. Click on the thumbnail below for a glimpse of what’s to come. TF-UK #9 hits on February 28th.

Errr, isn't this what IDW are doing with their Hail Megatron! thing? So, what do we think caused the change to the timeline then? Assuming they're not just going down the route of those bloody awful Enterprise Mirror Universe episodes and doing the whole thing out of continuity because no one likes the regular stuff?

Twilight’s Last Gleaming
We need a vomiting smiley for whenever someone pulls out a pretentious crock of **** like that for a crappy little strip in a mid-market British kids' comic. Seriously, I'm now going to Auto Assembly so I can punch him in the face.

Yeah. I deliberately chose not to update the thread with the new blog post on the grounds that he needs punching for that title.
With the exception of this being in the movie universe, presumably not part of "regular" continuity, and having the Autobots living on Earth in slavery as opposed to having left... yeah, it's absolutely the same.

Has there been any firm confirmation that the HM title is main IDW continuity? Has there been any firm confirmation that this UK strip isn't main UK continuity [It could always have main Movie bots unaffected by the change fighting to put things right)? Has there been any the HM title won't have any Autobots still on Earth at all in a disadvantaged position?
And Twilight's Last Gleaming is 100% better than Lost in Space as an arc title.

Not what I said. Pay attention.
Seriously, if you're whining because the UK only comic is going to have a strip that's vaguely along the same lines of an IDW series being publishing at around the same time by a completely different author, then you're far more bitter than I ever gave you credit for.

I dunno, are you planning to write a strip for the UK comic called "The Unbearable Lightness of Being a Lonely Cloud in the Furnace of Effervescence While a Brooding Phantasmagorical Stormcloud of Destiny Never Ends Grimlock Grimlock Grimlock"? If not, you're probably safe
If I do go, I'll be the one dressed as Gold Lightan. That way I can probably pull his heart out and a couple of people will get the reference.
In all seriousness, if I do go, I will actually ask him if he actually sent out to come up with an incredibly pretentious title, or if he's just naturally that far up his own arse.
