A detailed and insightful review, which I don't believe contains any glaring mistakes. It makes me wonder if Sky Shadow has been overhyped, although I have to admit he's one of the nicer looking black repaints out there. He'd probably make a good bowling partner with Skywarp.

Honestly, I think most of the hype about Sky Shadow comes from the character rather than the toy itself. He's an obscure Japanese character who's become something of a fandom meme, so it's only natural that people are going to be happy that he even exists. I mean...it's pretty cool that Hasbro even considered releasing a new toy based on a random background goon from Victory, isn't it? Even though I think it's a pretty pedestrian mold, I'm still glad that they made him.

A couple of typos to watch out for:

"it's a striking colour scheme in it's own right."

"although they kind of silly there too."
along with a rather dreadful showing in the IDW comics, after Simon Furman (writer of her poorly-conceived Marvel appearances) decided that female robots were silly...so she should be a psychotic transsexual instead.
Incidents like this are precisely why I think Simon Furman is a total hack. I love Transformers, but I avoid the comics like the plague due to atrocious writing. I had a read at the highly-recommended Last Stand of the Wreckers a while back and I couldn't stand it! Not only was it the worst TF comic I've ever read, but it was the worst comic I've read, period! How does Furman still have a job?

Proofed. Great review!

I actually learned something - I had no idea the wheels on Roadbuster's thighs could move! I had a go - they were bloody stiff and I thought I might snap them off! - and it's made a massive difference to his displayability. Such a shame the kibble behind spoils what would otherwise be a near perfect silhouette. Oh, that and the fact the rocket launchers aren't mounted on his shoulders, and his hands are hidden behind car doors...

I have a couple of problems with my Deluxe Roadbuster that you didn't mention. Perhaps it's just mine, but his head is so loose it just falls off in car mode (in fact, when I opened him I was convinced he hadn't come with a head at all, only to find it had rolled away under my desk). Also, the rocket launchers just won't transform without popping apart at the second hinge, and seem to be warping over time. I don't find them to be floppy at all though.

I've just taken a load of photos of my Deluxe Wreckers with their spangly Reprolabels stickers on. Roadbuster below, if it's any use to you. They do make a massive difference, but Roadbuster's robot mode still looks bloody plain with all that grey. He's still the poorest Deluxe Wrecker!

If you go for the Reprolabels stickers, I found that the ones which are supposed to go over the 'AMP' and 'National Guard' logos on his doors don't work - you can still see the original painted decals through them. So I cut the 'Mountain Dew' sections off and just applied these, leaving the original decals on show.

I would highly recommend the Reprolabels stickers for all of the Deluxe Wreckers.

Furman didn't write that one.
