Several months ago I bought Assassin's Creed 2 on sale from Steam and just started playing it this week. This game is so much fun. I'm only a few hours in but so far I'm really enjoying the roaming around and finding hidden stuff along with the story being very good so far. This is the only Assassin's Creed I've ever played, the entire series was on sale earlier this year and I got this one because Metacritic said it was the best of the series. I understand that the series can get repetitive but I'm not planning on playing any of the rest of it except maybe Origins and Odyssey.

I finished Assassin's Creed 2 last night and it was so good. I didn't do/get everything but I did most things and now I kinda want to play Brotherhood and Revelations.

I wish I had a PS4, I really want to play Origins and Odyssey just because of the eras that they take place in. Anybody want to give me a PS4?

Brotherhood is a direct continuation of AC2's story, and honestly they feel more like one game split in half than two separate entities when you play them back to back. Plus the Renaissance scenery porn is cranked up to 11. I'd definitely recommend it! Revelations is a bit less essential, IMO. It stars Ezio but in a different location with a totally different supporting cast.

I finally beat the main quest for Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and it's OK but since this is my first Assassin's Creed and I think that this game would have worked just as well if not better if they had ditched any connection to the previous Assassin's Creed games and made this a new franchise.
SPOILER! (select to read)
Also some of the elements like the monsters and Atlantis feel out of place, and they don't do anything with the assassins in the present day other than have their leader with a staff that can fix the universe and grant immortality told by the PC that they have a special destiny and they are left alone plugged into a portable Animus playing the adventures of the PC. After the PC is revealed to be alive for thousand years and dies in front of them.

Overall it's a good game with some pretty great stuff like: the story and voice acting world (even if does that weird punctuation and spelling with the various Greek names even if some VAs can't be bothered to maintain it constantly) it's got beautiful graphics and the music is great and some serious awful stuff like having to paying $10 for the XP Booster which does make the game more fun and a lot less of grid to play and the insane amount of worthless cosmetic microtransactions/DLC stuff. Some of the side quests are pretty stupid (basically some are like take these items to this person 200 meters away from me) or kill bandits, Spartans, or Athenians. The whole thing with Athens/Sparta War is never explained very well or why should I choose or even care for one side over the other since both are pretty much the same except the color of their armor. Since you can pretty much play both sides off the middle throughout the game and while there attempts to make their respective views but they come off as "Athens is evil!" or "Sparta is evil!" and that is it.

Make sure you have the time to put into this thing because it took me 97 hours on easy to beat the main quest.

I just finished Resident Evil 6, an above average game with a story that is jumbled with how things play out in the timeline. Also, the ammo/health item distribution between the various campaigns is very odd, with Leon's campaign having a lot of ammo while Chris' or Jake's campaign having a lot more action don't get as much ammo with you either running out more or relying more on melee attacks.

I will now start unlocking various skills and trying the harder difficulties.

Gamestop continues to provide me with Vita games while I wait for my Limited Run copy of Senran Kagura Bon Appetit Full Course(thank you Sony. Not only do I have to wait for the game because you`re now a bunch of content jackholes, but you`ve ensured I won`t get Senran Kagura Re:Newal for the PS4 as well as having to get a Switch for the inevitable port), and things got a little weird with the first one.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth Launch Edition: I`m not entirely sure when this game came out, but I got it used. And the weirdness kind of stems from something I noticed elsewhere. I mean, I get it. If the only way to get the game, besides downloading it, is to get the special edition bundle(I got Shinovi Versus and Estival Versus for way cheaper getting them, with all bonus books and cds, used from Gamestop), so keeping the bundle box made sense. Keeping the pillowcase, which was the only bonus with the launch edition, made sense. But they tossed the game case. Why didn`t they keep that out of everything?

MLB 14 THE SHOW: Being a Phillies fan stuck deep behind the lines in Red Sox territory(and too cheap to pay MLB to stream), if I want to watch them play, I have to play a game. And since I think this was the last portable one, it dovetails nicely with the first PSP game I got way back in... uh... wow, is my PSP that old?

Death Mark: A survival horror game I`ve heard a lot of good things about, I was able to take advantage of trade in bonuses(let`s hear it for old PS4 controllers!) and got it for a quarter of retail price. I`m looking forward to trying this one.

Picked up Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Special Edition from EB Games on Thursday.

Also, after having just gotten the 'Veteran' difficulty trophy I will now do a timeline accurate play through of Resident Evil 6.

I just bought an XBox One S. I don't have any games for it aside from the Minecraft that came bundled with it but I'm excited at the prospect of being able to get some games for it.

Also Sades is totally pissed off that I spent the money on it but it was a really good deal.

Diablo 3 on the Switch. This marks the 3rd time I've bought this game (previously PS3 then PS4). Runs silky smooth in both portable or docked modes and the small screen still works surprisingly well even though the character models are tiny. This game seems like it's made for portability, with it's jump-in/jump-out style without missing a beat.

Doom also on the Switch. Been wanting to cash in on this game for a long time, but considering I don't play my PS4 as much as I would like to and it being $60 on the Nintendo eShop, I wasn't ready to do so. Nintendo's Cyber Deals hit on Friday, and half-off seemed like a great time to finally go for it. I haven't played too much, but I like the creepy atmosphere and the run-and-gun blast your face off style. I'm not good at tactical FPS games, so running around shooting the crap out of anything that moves better fits my level of play.

Oh, and a 256 GB Micro SD card for my Switch to open up some space. Hooray for online Black Friday deals!

And a couple of weeks ago I played Shadow of Mordor for a few hours and really enjoyed it. I tried it a while back and didn't really get it for some reason. Now that I understand what's going on, I like the combat flow, sneaking around and whatnot. Glad I got it for like $4 way back.

Buy it a fourth time, on PC, so we can play together!

As for me, I bought Broforce a few days ago when it was on steam's sale list. It is... so fun. Difficult, but so, so fun.

Unfortunately, our PC situation is comprised of either older, tortoise-slow machines, or newer Chromebook-ish type laptops that aren't great for gaming. :(

Picked up a few things over the last few weeks.

Injustice 2: Legendary Edition - Fun game, brand new copy for really cheap at GameStop..... and I bet the people who paid full retail when the game first came out can't have been too happy. For the price of two of the cheaper dlc packs, I got everything.

Spy Hunter for the PS Vita. I love the old game, and this one looks like a lot of fun.

Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed for the Vita. I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. It's a lot of fun so far. If I have a complaint, it's that the camera's a little sluggish.

Senran Kagura Bon Appetit Full Course Collector's Edition for the Vita. Thanks to Limited Run, not only do I have the Collector's editions of every Vita Senran Kagura game, but of almost all of the NA releases of Senran Kagura.
