How do your super heroes smell?

Post by Notabot »

With their noses!
But seriously... I was buying some Spider-man bubble bath for Christmas, and the cashier joked that Spider-man is the best smelling super hero. That got me to thinking about what they'd actually smell like. I doubt Spidey's the best smelling. Sweaty spandex isn't that great. Wolverine probably reeks of stale cigar smoke and hair gel. The funk in Juggernaut's suit must be almost unbearable, and I'd imagine Cyclops wears cologne. Not sure why, but he just seems like a cologne guy to me.
So who smells best and who smells worst?

Dr Strange: a blend of Old Spice, talcum powder and Listerine

Dr Fate (the original before the Nabu retcon of the early 80s): shaving cream and deodorant ... if anything (I've been told the 40s were a low point for cologne sells in the US).

Dr Fate after the Nabu retcon: the helmet probably smelled like some moldy dead guy

Nightcrawler has to smell somewhat of sulphur/rotten egg/protein farts? *BAMF*

I imagine most of modern day superheroes don't have a rigorous hygienic regime, just the notoriously upper class would be drenched in foul smelling and therefore expensive cologne. People like Captain Britain, Angel and Tony Stark.

Stark and Braddock would probably have their own fragrance.

Movie Storm presumably smells of electrofried toad. The Scarlet Johanson Black Widow smells of loveliness.

There's got to be at least one supervillain with a gimmick of a repugnant smell even if I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I'm not sure why but I think Jarvis might smell nice. Also Prof X.

Professor X would smell like grandpa: old, but comforting.
Would the Human Torch's clothes always smell like smoke, or is that solved by the same magical material that allows his clothes not to burn off?

Batman probably is best detected by his smell; a rich geezer can not go around without at least a $500 cologne. Or maybe he just smells like aftershave, since he has this ****ing huge chin.

I don't know about hair gel, but you know Wolverine smells like beer...

I'm betting Captain America smells like grandpa...

I always wondered whether Sabretooth smelt like an old bearskin rug... possibly with added mothballs. But he is a Monty Python fan, so maybe he has splashed on the Brut?

Emma Frost just has to buy the world's most expensive perfume and you know it.

I'm surprised no one's taken Deadman yet.

Still, he probably smells better than Spawn....
