Latest Random Buy: Gardian
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 6023841774
I've got high hopes the head will be fixable (it's there, so I can probably do something with it - I'm not 100% familiar with the mechanism, but it might even be as simple as gluing) and aside from that it only seems to be missing a fist and the humourously tiny shield... TEH BIG CONCEPT is a kind of Russian Doll layout. I'd be lying if Gardian was one of the figs I've been really after, but the price was nice, and I'm never going to be able to afford Voltes V or Tetsujin-28, so it'll give me my fix... Incidentally, the toy was redeco'd as the Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos lead Baifunku, though I do think the original colours are a bit nicer. And it doesn't have Rom bloody Stol hiding in the middle.
In short, I'm a bit miffed it went for so little, which means a fortnight of worrying about whether the head is remotely fixable... it would seem going by other auctions it's worth the price for the smaller robots and accessories, it's a well-advertised auction from what looks like a very respectable seller. Prices for Godaikin do drop massively depending on accessories missing and/or broken and condition of packaging, but not usually this much...

Yeh, the all fit inside each other, largest on the outside. http://collectiondx.com and http://toyboxdx.com are your major toy porn sites.

Well, he turned up. It all turned out to be pretty fixable in the end, the only thing which isn't 100% is the one fist for the largest robot, which has had to be glued on. It's a really, really great piece of engineering, with the three arms all lined up so they still move at shoulder and elbow even when all three robots are merged, and it's an interesting concept. Sadly, the thing is super-fragile, and feels like it's going to just smash into a million pieces. Very thin, brittle plastic used for the large part, and it just doesn't inspire much faith. It's a real shame, as he's pretty average looking, but the concept is great... As it is, I hardly dare touch him, and every five minutes he gets put back in the box... Still, glad I only paid a relatively small amount to find this out, rather than a fortune
Glad I'm not the only one who initially thought this. hehe.Clogs wrote: That's pretty cool for the dosh - even if it is reminiscent of *arrrgh* Power Rangers.
Actually, it also reminds me of a few Micronaut models as well- Giant Acroyear, Biotron, and Baron Karza. Random thinking at work here, kids.
