My case and point precisely, Cliffy, in so many words.
I hope that it does do well, for FansProject's sake. But until I see some colour on it, I'm not terribly sure that it'll find it's way on to my 'want' list of FansProject add-ons. That, and I can never seem to find a cheap Hot Rod to start with...
To be honest, Rodimus Prime never seemed to be a huge visual departure from Hot Rod in the first place. He was taller, and his alt mode made him look like a mobile home, but otherwise Rodimus Prime wasn't too distinct from Hot Rod. So if anything, this Fansproject add-on is in keeping with that.
Besides, if the add-on ended up making Rodimus look wildly different, fans would be crying foul anyway.
I just got the Rodimus toy in yesterday. He is quite a bit smaller than I expected, but about on par with the G1 size. The toy is a nice representation of the character, but not what I expected for $75 USD. Mind you, I was not collecting TFs when the toy came out, and Astrotrain is about the last Classic figures I still want to get, that and a nice Ramjet. (the one I have now was lined in a Macross marker from the previous owner)
I will buy the trailer set because I do like the Superion add on set as well as the City Commander set. I do not like the weapon they have from the test shots. Looks kind of lame. Then again, I was not a huge fan of the rifle with fins. Whooosh....I'm gonna shoot you now Galvatron....
I paid £30 delivered for my Classics Rodimus which was MOSC.
I still dont know if its worth buying the add on set. Dont like the gun attachment for one thing. Will wait until the release before making my mind up.
Fansproject has updated their site with the full color mode. Looks fantastic but is it just me or anybody, he still feels like missing something I can't tell.
