Don't do it homes, we spent the better part of an hour trying to fly the bird-thing in the race at the beginning. it was dumb.

... I mean it probably didn't help that I hopped into it without knowing how it all worked and said 8 yo is her mother's child and didn't bother to read the damn instructions beforehand. But, y'know. Motion controls are gimmicky and stupid and I hate them. It has nothing to do with the fact that I suck at them and everything to do with them being bad no-good etc. :glance:

ASIDES from being a terrible role model, I've been playing Dawn of Man in between bouts of being busy/not. It's a decent sim, but it's very... automated. in some respects it's nice but I wish it gave the player more ability to tweak some of the smaller aspects.

I haven't looked into mods yet, maybe there's something that allows for a bit more micromanagement.

Been playing through Control again, because someone I occasionally watch was streaming it and because I never got around to the DLC when they came out. I need to clean up a few trophies for the Foundation DLC and then I'm going to start the Alan Wake DLC.

I don't have much time for gaming anymore. I did try playing GOG's version of Zombies Ate my Neighbor (which I loved as a child) back in June. However, the audio wouldn't work! :(

Because I can't read kanji to save my lifeI shall have to resort to the eBay listing.

Kantai Collection KanColle Kai Regular Edition for the PS Vita. Cute anime girls dressed up as World War 2 era battleships. It's a Vita version of the mobile game. No clue if it's any good yet, but it looks like fun. And it was a sealed copy, complete with instruction manual.

I miss instruction manuals......

Just finished the story mode for Injustice: Gods Among Us, it's fun, the story feels like a Crisis on Two Earths story, probably exactly what it is.

I'm goingh to change gears for a bit and play the Resident Evil remake in time for October.

Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries Digital Jump Day Edition: As much as I love playing Mechwarrior, I don't know if I'm going to get used to the aiming system. I don't mind the up and down so much on the crosshairs, but having the left stick run the legs and the right run the direction you're looking in.... I've got no problem with it in, say, Cyberpunk or Farcry, but in Mechwarrior I never completely get the hang of it. The really neat part is the Jump Day Digital version got me both the PS4 and PS5 versions from the looks of things. I can put it on my PS4 and play it on the Vita if I want.

I probably won't, but at least I've got the option.

I play games mostly to relax. In addition, I often have a situation where I get bored and have to kill some time. So if you decide to settle, distract from the problems, dive into a bright world of computer games, it is best to choose a shooter with bubbles on the platform https://boom.dk/bubble-shooter/. As a rule, game shooters often choose guys, with this plan's first game created back in the nineties. Shooting games can play for hours because the main thing is to show accuracy, agility, enjoy the bright and colorful game. Well, and of course, relax.

How do you play Mechwarrior without a proper joystick anyway? I always thought of those games more as simulators than run-and-gun-as-a-giant-robot action fare.

For years, the only version of Mechwarrior I played was the old, old PC version, so all I was really used to was keyboard controls. You could torso twist, but it wasn't steering two halves of the same body at the same time. I also discovered that the most dangerous mech in the whole game was the Shadow Hawk. Due to a glitch, which the game itself recognized, the projectile based weapons didn't have a finite range. You could fire your autocannon on one side of the map and the round wouldn't stop unless it hit terrain, a building, a mech, or the other edge of the map. And the best way to keep the game from throwing Shadow Hawks at you was to crank the difficulty up to high. When the controls started getting more complex, it took me a while to adapt. Mouse aiming on first person shooters drives me nuts, but I've got no problems with a controller.

I think the biggest headache in MW5 was the fact that the two sticks were completely independant of each other. You can lock the torso in the options, though, so a random twitch isn't going to send your view at a 90 degree angle to your direction.

Picked up some other stuff. In order:

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter: The thing that made me get this game was more curiosity than anything. I watched a walkthrough on the most recent game from the company that made this one, Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, and thought, ‘Hey, that’s a cool game. I want to try that.’ A much younger Holmes, an imaginary or ghost assistant in the form of Jon, well thought out case(the walkthrough only did the first one). Then I saw the price. And as interesting as it looked, I was worried that watching the gameplay might be more interesting than actually playing it. Fortunately the last game they put out, The Devil’s Daughter, was on sale, and I figured that would be a way to find out if I’d like the engine and gameplay. And I do. It’s a lot of fun.

Robotech: The Macross Saga HD Remaster for the Switch. Of all the games I thought would get an HD Remaster/Upgrade, a GBA Robotech version of Valkyrie Scramble was last on the list. From the looks of things, it’s a graphical overhaul of the GBA game, and a complete port, down to the game studio mascot being an unlockable pilot.

Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality for the Switch. It’s not bad. I get that it started life as a full on VR game, and for the most part, it works. It got easier to play once I cranked the brightness up. And then the next level kicked off and the frame rate tanked. So it’s fun, or at least I was having fun, but not perfect.

CHRISTMAS VIDEO GAME HAUL!!!!!!!

First, what I got myself:

PS Vita 1000: Yes, I now have two Vitas, a first gen and a second gen. I’d like to say ‘WOOHOO!!!! I’VE GOT OLED!! AMAZING COLORS!!!’… what I really have to say is ‘M’eh’. Yeah, the colors do seem a little more vibrant, but between the increased bulk and the fact that the first gen model has a bigger rear touchpad it’s not quite as comfortable to hold, it’s a good thing I got it to be a backup. I did manage to find a face cover for it, and the added bulk and the fact you can flip the face cover all they way around means you don’t have to worry about accidentally hitting the L2/L3 and R2/R3 buttons all the time.

And now, the gifts, all for the Vita from a friend of mine:

Start with the one I can’t read. Gundam Extreme VS Force. Haven’t tried it yet, but it looks like it might be fun. The unfortunate part is that unless Sony decided to put of the games into a worldwide library, the DLC codes probably won’t do me any good.

Punch Line: While I already had a digital copy, it’s nice to have a physical one.

MegaTagmention BLANC+ Neptunia VS Zombies: The RPG series that gets a new game once in a while. It’s a fun series.

Finished two play-throughs of the Resident Evil REmake, unsure if I'll do any other play-throughs of it.
Did enjoy it mind you, just tense enough that I can't play it multiple times.

Will move onto The Order:1866 now.

Finished The Order:1866, rather short, half the chapters were just cut-scenes.

I'm finally going to play Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark now.

Bought Hades (X1) and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 (NS) from EB Games.

I played Transformers: Devastation again for the first time since it came out. It's...not at all a game I'd even consider replaying if it didn't have TF characters in it, but it's also not quite the sad piece of shovelware I'd remembered. Clearly at least some of the people on the team cared a lot about the brand, because there's a zillion little references to all sorts of corners of the brand scattered all around rather than just being a paint by numbers Sunbow love-in like I'd remembered.

Still, it's way too short with far too few playable characters and unique enemies, and the blatant Combiner Wars toy shilling is just embarrassing six or seven years on. The playable characters that are there all feel unique, but most of the enemies do not, and while there are a zillion different combos you can learn none of them felt anywhere near as effective as just zooming up to your target in alt-mode at full speed for a charge attack. It was a fun enough way to kill an evening or two (which is all the time it'll take to beat the thing) but by then the novelty of having Optimus Prime run around shooting nameless goons with a mini-Shockwave gun wore off.

Far Cry 6 Special Edition (XBX) & Guardians Of The Galaxy Special Edition (PS4) - Ordered both of these from JB Hi-Fi online 50% off each basically, did take a while to get delivered though.

Halfway through Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark but will have to do a second run to find the audio logs I've missed.

Halo: Infinite Special Edition - picked up from EB Games.

Finished Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark, thought the Cybertron parts are alright, degrees of enjoyment, got to use Bruticus at one point and that was fun. The Live-Action parts look like mottled browns everywhere and the Earth-based story doesn't line up with the Live-Action movies, just do not make sense if you try to reconcile them.

Macross Delta Scramble Runpika Sound Edition for the PS Vita: I can’t get any of the DLC Valkyries, and I’m going to have to hope that what I’ve heard about only half the game being on the cart, but I finally have a Macross game that I didn’t have to download. And the difference between the regular edition ad the Runpika Sound edition? The regular version has 20 songs, the Runpika has 50. I’m going to hope they all aren’t from Macross Delta. I like J-Pop, but continual idol pop might drive me mad.

EDIT: The music isn’t too bad so far. My fear of music in the game might be a holdover from Minmay in Robotech……
