Wildstorm always varied its character and costume designs a lot, often to the extent of parodying how other comics were doing it, but elements are fairly bang-on to some of the images (i.e. colour palette is relatively consistent as black & white but mostly he's wearing a white t-shirt rather than shirt, etc).

Not really that fussed about being super-accurate with customs at the best of times, but it does make it easier and fun when the source material gives artists opportunity to put a personal spin on things without it breaking the flow (e.g. characters having a completely different look in another comic that's running at the same time, or really inconsistent between scenes/issues, or with some IDW TF titles I seem to recall that characters weren't even consistent about alt modes or faces let alone more minor details).

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions
Came across a couple of options for reasonably priced mummy figures. NECA have done a retro card glow-in-the-dark version of their Karloff without extra accessories, and the Bride of Frankenstein that's just come out looks decent with the face covering if you wipe the metallic paint off (then they look like stitches rather than metal staples). Just be careful as the head is moulded out of skin colour plastic, although a little bit on the head area isn't going to matter as it looks like exposed bone.
Wasn't going to sample the NeMA Fiendish Feet (they're mini figures based on the 80s St Ivel yoghurt pots) but saw a Pharoah Nuff that already had a case, and that's also on an Egypt theme...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions
Lots of LEGO and bootlego this weekend.
LEGO 11033 Creative Fantasy Universe - I already own this, but US$50 for 1800 pieces is too good a deal to pass up. I realize that by this logic, I should've bought out the entire stock, but I lack follow through.
LEGO 31144 Exotic Pink Parrot - I'd thought about the blue version, but never picked it up. I'm glad I didn't, because I like this color scheme better.
Block Tech Mount Up Deep-sea Angler, Flametrail Phoenix, and Greenback Crab - I already owned the crab, but bought a second because the joints for the arms are very similar to Kre-O ball joints. They're all plastic, no rubber, so they aren't interchangable with Kre-O. That is, I can't use these ball joints with Kre-O sockets, or vice versa. But, on their own, they're a decent enough match to look good alongside my Kre-O builds.
Snap & Switch Gloomy the Naughty Grizzly - A brick built, pink, chibi bear with what appears to be blood dripping from his mouth and splattered across his chest. I couldn't pass this up. Upon building him, I realized that there is more red stuff on his paws.
I looked up the character name, and it turns out it's an anime of 12 episodes, about 1 minute each. Gloomy is a Grizly adopted by a man as a pet. But, Gloomy doesn't understand the pet/owner relationship, because he is a bear. So, he mauls his owner every episode. It is glorious. Despite the copious blood in the show, the red stuff may be pomegranate juice.
