<--Is even more glad he skipped out on Prime.

I may have to get that . . . even if it's not produced in the US . . .

I wouldn't get it, unless it came with a trailer that made it 'super magnus' or something. Otherwise I'm jsut going ahead to go get Prime.

I guess there's no news about whether or not he gets battle armor or not? If he doesn't get that, I see no point in me buying this figure since I already have a MP Convoy.

Thanks, Zeeks! Great job!

Personally, I like Magnus better than Prime, even if his colors aren't as interesting.

What they really need to do is make a Scourge . . .

Scourge? That seems a bit out in left field.

Why are they naming him Ultra Magnus? Without his battle armor he is only Magnus.

Doesn't look a bloody thing like Ultra Magnus.

It looks like a portion of the toy, yeah. But that's like taking skeletal Starscream from Race With the Devil (or whatever) and saying it's the real Starscream).

Says who? Dreamwave? Mad Brick McDonough? Balls to that.

Toy first.
Cartoon/comic afterwards.

Show me a struccy manual saying that the armourless robot is called Magnus.

If they release armour for this 'un, then I'd love it.

Without that...drokk it, I'll just take Prime instead.

I'm thinking RID Scourge. Should've specified, but the truth is that I forgot about the other one, since RID's the first Scourge I think of.

RiD Scourge / Black Convoy would've been a much better choice, IMO. This colour scheme is likely to be most of interest to kitbashers...

bah think i'll pass. btw wasn't master piece prime supposed to be based heavilly on the cartoon version (ie gun color etc) as this is perhaps as far off the cartoon as one could get for a magnus figure..

M'eh. Unless it has armour this is going to be way down my 'to get' list...

Quoth PaladinPrime:
What they really need to do is make a [RiD] Scourge . . .

Or a Nemesis Prime.

Quoth Ultimate Weapon:
Why are they naming him Ultra Magnus? Without his battle armor he is only Magnus.

Technically, yes, he ought to be (following the pattern of all the other 'Super', 'God', 'Victory', etc. Transformers). But how many people know of just 'Magnus'? On the other hand, virtually everybody who knows Transformers knows who 'Ultra Magnus' is.

Still, it would be nice to have the opportunity to add on armor to him as well as have his proper rifle and not a recolor of Prime's.

While I do like the colors, without the armor it's just kind of pointless. I mean, $60+ for a repaint of a toy I already have?

Goddamn bloody repaints

Total waste of money.

Ultra Magnus is best known for the big powerful version that combines with the trailer section. Not the white Prime throwback part.

I agree that this figure is pointless without the rest of the armour that makes up the character.

Having all 3 versions of MP Prime/Convoy I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy Ultra Magnus if all we get is the cab section. What Hasbro/Takara should have done is released an official trailer section to MP Prime/Convoy this time around and then do the same with U/Magnus.
Looks like if this is deffo what we'll be getting then the kitbashers will be busy working away.

hmm im no where near sold on it, far too much white...

i would say i might get this down the line to compliment mp prime, but i think having more than one figure that big might detract from the standout side for me... i mean i only have like the alternators, so i got all the alternators then towering above them is this huge prime, like "whoa" having two the same size, and the same figure wont work, wont be as powerful

I don't think many people will pay another 60$ for MP Magnus.
