"Clean up our backyards, hmm?" Drift asked Sideswipe, downing the rest of the drink. "I'm in. What do you have in mind?"

The Mezzanine, Border Regions

As Magnificus and his guest passed the time with idle conversation (OOC: I apologize if that is presumptuous of me), he was brought to pause by a sudden whirling sound overhead.

"Ah, he's here," Magnificus reflexively glanced to the ceiling.

---

Blades lowered down onto the landing platform on the roof of the club, the sound of his rotors alerting those inside the building of his presence, which he made no attempt to conceal.

He transformed and walked down the short staircase to the access-way below the pad.

---

When the elevator arrived on the penthouse floor, Blades found Magnificus and Firecracker - the latter who he initially took little note of - casually sitting in the lounge.

"Well, that was quick," Magnificus looked up to the former-Protectobot.

"Meh, I was bored," he shrugged.

"Too quiet of an evening?"

"Yeah," Blades frowned. "...So, what's up? Said you had some new gig for me."

"Mmm, yeah, I suppose you could call it a 'gig'. Think of it more like community work."

"Community...work?" Blades skeptically asked.

"Trust me, I think you'll like this," Magnificus smiled, motioning him to move closer. "But, what a terrible host I am being! Ahem...'Graze', this is Firecracker. He and his boss are old associates of mine. We go back a few stellar cycles...."

When Blades turned to address Firecracker, he froze up when he realized his employer's guest was an Autobot.

"Hey," was all he could muster up.

"Leaving without being dismissed?" Prowl dryly told Springer as he made for the exit. "Hmph, very well, on your way then. When you are up to par and have undergone the Rite of Autobranding, contact me. I will escort you to your shuttle."

"No, I don't think so," First Aid answered Arcee. "But while we wait..."

He then turned to one of the attending nurses. "Set up the CT equipment, would you?"

"Right away, doctor," the nurse dutifully answered.

Drift raised an optic ridge at the distinctive sound of helicopter rotor blades whupping somewhere above the bar. "Now what do you think that is, eh, Sideswipe?"

Iacon, Slums

"Yes. Just down that alley there," Sunstorm nodded a bit to the right, "is the entrance. Then it's maybe five minutes' walk."

"I'm guess you're some kind of medic then?" He asked, referring to Glit's diagnosis.

The Seeker looked down sadly at the injured Carrier. Hrrm...

Sideswipe shook his head. "Don't look at me. I just shoot people for a living. We need someone who can do strategy." He cocked his head when he heard the helicopter and he was going to say more to Drift, but a commotion going on at the doorway caught his attention instead. He looked over and frowned as he saw a bouncer getting rough with a blue and red robot.

"Is that Crosshairs?" he asked.

Firecracker kicked his legs down off the couch and let them clatter to the ground a bit more loudly than was polite. He eyed up Blades, but the white and grey helicopter wasn't familiar to him.

"I'd reckon that 'Graze' isn't your real name," he said as he climbed to his feet and walked toward Blades, "Goin' by the way Maggy here all but air-quoted it. You gonna tell me who you really are, or you want me to just call you that?"

He shrugged, then extended his hand. "No steel off my nose either way. I'm Firecracker, like your boss said. I got a job that needs doing and he tells me you're the perfect fit for me."

Holding Cells, Iacon Security Service HQ

"Don't try to scare me," Slingshot told Deftwing. "I know my rights. It was self-defense--"

"You and your friends are on video, planning to provoke the Decepticons, starting the fight and then escalating it until it became deadly," Deftwing told him bluntly. "If this goes to trial you're looking at first-degree murder charges."

"And this is the part where you offer me a deal, right?"

Deftwing sighed. "No one wants this to become a big story, Slingshot. All of your drinking buddies have already taken deals, and they'll testify at your trial if there is one. You will be convicted and you'll spend a hundred vorns in spark-extraction lockdown, assuming you're lucky enough to avoid the death penalty. Or you can plead guilty to mechslaughter, spend a couple years in a low-security jail and keep the story out of the papers. It's up to you."

"I think you're talking crap," Slingshot told him, although the breaks in his voice put the lie to his show of confidence. "I tell a jury what happened, you can bet there's going to be at least one mech there who thinks I'm a hero. I'll take my chances at trial."

"That's your choice," Deftwing told him. "I'll have council assigned to you in the morning, then. May Primus have mercy on you."

"Get slagged!"

Deftwing turned away from Slingshot and ignored the new raft of insults and slurs coming from the Aerialbot. As he walked away, he couldn't quite hide a smile. That went perfectly...

The Mezzanine, Border Regions

Upset by Magnificus' far from subtle introduction, Blades looked to his employer for any nonverbal cue, something that would tell him that Firecracker could be trusted.

"What?" Magnificus said bluntly. "It's up to you."

"Tsst. Gee, thanks a lot," Blades quietly grumbled.

He crossed his arms and looked back to Firecracker, "It's a need-to-know kinda thing. If I like what you have to say, I'll tell you."

Blades loosened up his posture and continued. "So what kind of job is this?"

Drift was about to say something when Sideswipe pointed Crosshairs out. "Who's Crosshairs?"

But judging from Sideswipe's tone, Crosshairs seemed to be a fellow Autobot. Drift let his hands drop to the two shorter swords sheathed on his hips, optics narrowing. "Friend of yours? Do we need to show the bouncer some drunken fighting?"

"I can open the channel, but you'll need to transmit the message. I've got a few too many things to ficus on right now," Wing Saber answered to Ironfist, his tone indicating that he was having some troubles now.

Wing Saber for several moments, the changing lights on his control panel showing that he was trying to open the com channel. Normally such an action would've been done instantly, but the communication equipment seemed to be one of his damaged systems. After a few moments he was able to reroute his systems and get the channel working.

"There, connection with Autobot Base establishing. Go ahead when ready Ironfist."

Sideswipe shrugged. "He's an Autobot," he clarified for Drift. "That's close enough in my books."

He dropped a few coins on the table to cover their tab, then got up and headed toward the ruckus. "Not surprised you don't know him," he told Drift casually. "He's our armoury officer."

The Autobot tapped the bouncer on the shoulder, then sucker-punched him in the face when he turned around.

"The hell-" Crosshairs exclaimed as the goon let go of him. The ex-Targetmaster's voice was severely slurred, as if he'd been overenergizing himself for days without stopping.

"Thank us later," Sideswipe said. Then he glanced toward Drift. "Two more of them, one outside the door and one heading this way. Can you handle them? I'm going to get our friend here out safely."

He paused for a second to kick the first guard in the head when he tried to get up, then clarified just in case, "No killing."

Firecracker shrugged. "Need to know? I can respect that," he told Blades.

He flopped back down onto the sofa, making the springs creak precariously before he said, "The job's pretty simple. I'm a, uh, special assistant to someone high up in the Autobot hierarchy, you could say. A friend of ours got pinched by the ISS. We need him for a job too. Maggie here tells me that you used to carry 'round a badge yourself, and I figure that if anyone would know how to pop him from lockup without killing the entire detachment, it'd be you."

He shrugged again. "We've got more work lined up after that that I figure you'll be a good fit for, but one thing at a time. Need to know, and all that. But from what your boss here tells me, it's right up your alley."

The Mezzanine

Drift followed Sideswipe as he walked towards Crosshairs, unsheathing one of his shorter blades and waving his other hand into a straight position. He watched as Sideswipe took out the first guard that accosted Crosshairs."Amoury officer, huh?" Drift muttered.

He nodded approvingly as Sideswipe took out the bouncer. "Fast and succinct. Excellent."

When Sideswipe told him to take out the two other bouncers, Drift swung his blade around him and got to a ready position, blade extended towards the bouncer coming at them and his other palm balling into a fist, and glanced at the bouncer. "They'll live." He said in his best Terminator impression possible. (Which isn't very good)

After sizing up his enemy he charged forwards and with a swing attempted to slice the bouncer's knees, while his other hand lashed out, in a blow that would hopefully land on the bouncer's gut if it hit.

"Yes, I'm a medic," Glit confirmed without enthusiasm. He padded along behind Sunstorm, keeping an open monitor on Carrier.

The dying mech kept his optics on Sunstorm's face as if fascinated.

Autobase

Springer walked out the door of Prowl's Office and headed towards the street. He scratched his head and looked around. Best place to get patched up is the IMR I guess. As he walked upt the street, he transformed to car mode and headed into the direction of the IMR.

(OOC @ Springer85: Medbay, I guess?)

Mezzanine, Border Regions

"No killing means no swords," Sideswipe told Drift wearily. "Weapons are weapons and we don't want them to pull theirs."

Another bouncer came in from outside and charged toward them. Sideswipe stepped away from Crosshairs, feinted a head-butt and then grabbed the dodging guard and slammed him head-first into the doorframe.

He left the dazed mech lying on the floor and guided Crosshairs outside.

"OK, now you're going to tell me what trouble I've gotten myself into."

"T-trouble?" Crosshairs slurred. "No trouble. I just, I...uh...they wouldn't serve me. Said I'd had too much! Can you imagine?"

"Yeah, I sort of can," Sideswipe muttered.

"But I din' wanna leave, and they...they insisted. Bouncers got pretty rough too."

"Yeah, I saw that," Sideswipe told him. "Care to tell me why you're getting so sauced in the first place? You're hardly the type."

"Not really," Crosshairs replied. "It's private."

"I just saved you from an old-fashioned butt-kicking in there," Sideswipe reminded him.

"An' thanks for that," Crosshairs slurred. "But you're not gettin' anything more outta me. Now if you'll excuse me..."

"So you can go off for some more drinking? Nope, not gonna happen."

"You're not the boss'a me," Crosshairs said, trying to shove Sideswipe away.

"Maybe," Sideswipe told him. "But I am the guy who's about to knock you out and drag you back somewhere to recover."

"Huh?"

Crosshairs was still trying to decipher that when Sideswipe clobbered him in the back of the head.

OOC: i assume i can control the bouncers?

Mezzanine, Border Regions

"I can use swords without killing them." Drift protested to Sideswipe, kicking the first bouncer in the gut and swinging the blade towards the second bouncer, and twisted his wrist at the last second. So instead of slicing the head off, Drift merely gave the bouncer a light headache by slapping him with the flat end of the blade.

Enough distraction for Drift's fist to land twice.

The second bouncer toppled backwards, and Drift turned back towards the first, twirling his blade in a ready position.

"Hey, Swipe! Are we leaving here?"

"Yeah, and hopefully before one of them decides to call Red Alert's gang down on us!" Sideswipe told Drift. He threw the unconscious Crosshairs over his shoulder and carried him toward the nearest public transit terminal.

IMR, Autobase

Springer stops in front of the entrance of the IMR that's still being flocked by various reporters. He notices Cliffjumper, Brawn and Hosehead holding back the reporters and preventing them from enetering the building. Springer scratches his head and wonders how he's going to enter the building, but for the looks of things, the only way he can eer is through the front door and so decides to walk through the crowd. "Alright, comig through! Injured mech here in need of medical attention," he shouts as he passes through the crowd.

Reporters then turn their attention to Springer and start asking him various questions about his trip to Crystal City, but all he replies is "no comment." It was then that one reporter asked him about Hot Rod and if he's here to visiti him. Springer stops and looks the reporter square in the optics. "Wait, what? Hot Rod's been injured? What happened?!"

The reporter explains Springer in shor what happened and Springer is shocked. "Roddy's been shot?!" Springer then wastes no time outside and directly enters the IMR, only to be stopped by Cliffjumper and Brawn.

"Sorry, Springer, I can't let you in. Only Autobots can enter right now," Cliffjumper said.

"Well, good thing that I'm here to get Autobranded then," Springer replied. "If you dn't believe me, contact Prowl. He told me to get patched up and get branded. Now let me through."

Cliffjumper hesitates for a moment, but then steps aside. "Just stay out of trouble alright?"

Springer enters the IMR and looks around. He reds a sign that says CR-chambers and then heads towards the direction the sign was pointing to. I'll get fixed and branded first. Can't show up in Roddy's room looking like this.

"Go, Swipe! I'll cover you!" Drift said, kicking one of the fallen bouncers about to get up in the gut.

He dashed towards the exit, sheathing his swords. He leapt straight towards another bouncer blocking the door, jet boosters activating. He kicked the bouncer square in the face while he soared above him. He landed nimbly on his feet outside the Mezzanine as the bouncer toppled forwards.

"Sorry for the mess, guys!" Drift tossed a few energon chips at the bouncer. "Next time we'll tip more!"

Ignoring the curses heaped at him, the ex-Decepticon transformed into vehicle mode and shot towards Sideswipe and Crosshairs.

Iacon, Underground

Sunstorm gently lowered the injured Carrrier onto a medslab, and placed his hand atop the mech's head as he stared down with concern...

How he'd changed, ever since he'd started wandering the streets of this world. All the time he'd spent around the actual citizens of Cybertron. Not the soldiers, no, the people. These were who the war was ostensibly for, and yet, they didn't even have a horse in the race anymore. They just sat on the sidelines and tried to survive as two armies waged a power trip, wrecking their world in the process. They needed help, and so Sunstorm helped. He missed the thrill of battle, oh yes. He wanted nothing more than to once again feel another mech's circuitry melt in his grasp, to pump raw energy directly into a spark chamber, to let loose his full power in a hellish maelstrom of fury.... But, that was not his purpose. Not here or now, at least. Maybe someday, again. But for now, his purpose was to help those who would be otherwise ignored. For now, he is to be a lighthouse, not a cleansing fire.

Sunstorm snapped back into reality, glancing back at Glit before turning back to Carrier, "How do you feel, friend?"

(OOC: @ Springer85 - Hmm. Prowl could have Autobranded him, now that I'm thinking about it. Oops :o But, I suppose the IMR works since you're already there.)

The Mezzanine, Border Regions

"Not sure why your boss couldn't have pulled any strings if were talking about a military mech. Must've really pissed off someone at the ISS," Blades smirked. "But yeah, it's doable. This isn't a high-security prison we're talking about here, just the holding cells."

Though he didn't take a seat with Magnificus and Firecracker, opting to stand instead, Blades moved in closer.

"Unless this guy of yours is high-profile, which I'm betting he's not, and assuming there's no else there right now that actually is, it'd be standard security detail," he told Firecracker. "Personnel will be on rotations - so if you got anyone in place, you might be able get someone in there during the switch. If you got a map of the joint and know where your boy is being held, I can tell you what to look out for. That is if nothing has changed since I was last at ISS HQ," he shrugged. "So, uh, who is this guy of yours anyway?"

Prowl's Office, Autobase

Shortly after Springer exited his office, Prowl took his place at his desk and promptly worked the controls on his holo-projector, barely acknowledging that Smokescreen was still present.

"I have Springer's message to prepare," he looked up to the SIS director. "I do not wish to take up anymore of your valuable time. Is there anything else...?" he added, blatantly avoiding the matter of Repugnus.
