I think it's more they (Repugnus, Dinobots, etc) have an ability to focus on certain things to the exclusion of others. Which is relatable.

All of them have imperfections. But some characters have more serious issues than others.
Speaking strictly from g1:

Alpha Trion has the biggest god complex issue. He behaves as if impeccable and as if all knowing exactly like the matrix....God of transformers.

Wheeljack: a kind of invasive psychiatrist trying to mess around with minds of dinobots.

Cliffjumper: temper tantrums. And he jumps to conclusions very fast.

Brawn: machoness and manliness leads him to serious problems.
