Shrapnel's two left hands.
If you look at G1 Shrapnel's box art he has two left hands. At some point they corrected this but it made me wonder for a few moments whether the airbrushed artwork was in fact pieced together from component limbs on occasion. That can't be the case though because every toy has its own unique gun, cannon etc. Even the combiner limb toys like the Aerialbots & Protectobots had subtly different pistol designs.

Oh well, seems it was already known and noted on Wiki:
'Shrapnel's package art for his Hasbro and Milton Bradley releases hilariously depicts him with two left hands. For Takara's Japanese release, this error was corrected'.

I never noticed this before. It's hilarious!
I 'd bet the artist sketched out the different body parts separately before doing the whole drawing, and originally meant for the gun to be in the left hand. But it wouldn't have fit on the box in that position, so they moved it to the right and forgot to correct the hand.
