Hmmm . . . could they be doing an Armada version of the Unicron saga? Cool.

As I said over in Transfans in a similar thread...

Back at that toy convention I was at a few weeks ago in Jersey, I (and the others that were there) met one of the dudes from Transfandom, Tony Bacala. He told me (us maybe, I don't remember) about the old Japanese Unicron mold from one of the Beast Wars series (can't remember if it was BW2 or BW Neo). He was saying how it was gonna be remolded slightly to take advantage of the Minicon gimmick and be released in Japan as an exclusive in their Armada line.

It might be true, or he could have been screwing with us. You figure it out

It wouldn't be impossible... if the mould is already more or less in existance a limited run would be a wise PR move for Hasbro...

Funny thing is, Furman's about to take over the comic, and you know what happened the last time he wrote a story about Unicron. If you don't then I suggest you read issue 75 of the US run.

There's a chance Unicron could be fit into the series down the line. Remember that the series is only being dubbed here in the US, the guys over in Japan are the ones having it animated and such.

Hmm I must have associated Unicron with G1. Armada just sucks.

Forgive me. :( ;)

I wonder if they'll give Unicron a minicon called Quintesson :) that actually looks like one, with rotating face. That'd be neat.

Hmmm . . . if Unicron is going to be in the series, then something tells me that he may have something to do with Galvatron.

Armada cartoon series sucks just like Denyer said, but the comic is cool, especially now that Furman is gonna write some. Bringing Unicron into the comic would be cool. Even if they brought Unicron into the cartoon, it would still suck. That cartoon is just plain horrible, just like RID.

Damn I hope this is true! I'd give my left testicle for a Unicron toy (provided its a half-decent toy).

Wait a minute: Fort Max gets put on 'indefinite hold' because Hasbro aren't sure if they can shift it, yet here they are pumping out Unicron? Whats wrong here?

If the toy is half-way decent, I'll buy one.

Well, Unicron is going to be an all-new figure, at least as far as customers are concerned... and if it is the modified BW2 mould, it looks fantastic... Even on this board, people are very divided as to the actual quality of the Fort Max mould, with a significant number, myself included, believing it to be a brick, and there's the fact that a portion of Tf buyers would already have secured a Fort Max of some sort, be it the '87 issue, Grand Max or CR Brave Max, whereas practically no-ne owns a Unicron toy. Except former poster Gravitron, who owned an ornage basket ball witha pair of icecream cones stuck to the front, and the moniker "Unikrun" written on the side in black felt tip.

It's a shame that it being part of Armada means there almost certainly won't be a Galvy & Hot Rod Micromaster two-pack included, which'd be cool...
