Decepticon Leader +Chain of Command

Post by [cable]-Iacon »

Maybe these two questions has been discussed before but i would still like to hear what you all have to say. :p

1. Wich Decepticon do you all think would have the strength & brains enough so they could have been victorious in the Cybertronian wars for them?
Who would be the ideal decepticon leader?

2. Silly question maybe but here it goes what is the chain of command for the Autobots and decepticons? down to the last robot... pre movie and after movie.

Autobots. Decepticons - Autobots Decepticons
1.Optimus 1. Megatron 1.Rodimus 1.Galvatron
2.? 2.? 2.? 2.?

and so on.. :)

there was a chain of command?

One of the things I've always thought about the TF armies is that they were very poorly organized. I mean compared to a real Army no one really had a rank or real position.

Had the Decepticons been better organized, they probably would have won the war centruies earlier

and the Autobots needed to learn to be an army first

But there must have been some sort of "chain" ..
Starscream says on some occasions that he is second in command if i remember things right..
In more than meets the eye episodes Jazz is always the one who organize the autobots for battle.. but they were just pilot episodes so i could be wrong..

And soundwave is also shown in some sort of command position
if there had of been a true chain of command then their wouldn't have been the chaos in astrotrain after megatron was thrown out in the movie

You are right...Maybe the strongest decepticons saw there chance to lead.. When the strongest of them was out of the way. Maybe they just didnt give a damn about the chain of command in their hunt for power who knows. But it must have worked anyway because Starscream did become the leader but just for a short time though. :)
I dont think Starscream is strong enough to be victorius in the battle onboard Astrotrain.. And i dont think he would have become leader without anybody respecting the command line and supporting him..
Lets face it not many decpticons liked Starscream..:D

true true, but it did seem that they acepted him after the astrotrain incedent
I would have love to have seen starscream go against Say Devistator for the power :D

Me too I think Devastator would have made him scrap metal if they fought in Astrotrian .. Wonder how he actually got to power i dont think he blasted them all and said: Now you follow me.. I think he talked them into accepting him as new leader.. or some other dirty tricks so they would accept him.

well I mean in the series when he said
"Megatron has fallen I rule the Decepticons
Decepticons Retreat" they all actually listened to him
so either they liked him, or there was some sort of loose chain of command

Right you are old chap! :)
I have read somewhere that the decepticon top hierarki was:

1.Megatron
2.Starscream
3.Shockwave
4.Soundwave

But i think it was on some fan site so he could have just made it up. but it looks pretty good to me :)

yeah, relativly close
but even that wasn't concrete as Megatron put soundwave in charge when he didn't trust starscream

as for Galvatron, it was a little better
Galvatron
Cyclonus
Scourge
the rest of the decepticons

as I said before, the Autobots were worse
Optimus was in command
with Jazz as his right hand man
and Prowl being some where at the top
Iron hide too probably
but there was little organization

I have to agree.. Soundwave was more trusted then Starscream..
But then Soundwave was a big kiss-ass sort of speak if Megatron would have jumped to his death and asked Soundwave to join him he would probably do that :)

What about Rodimus leadership his chain of command?

1. Rodimus
2. Ultra magnus
3. Springer

Maybe.. what do you think..?

I think Starscream ended up in charge in the movie because he sat back, and picked off the winner. He probably used his null-ray.

Personally, I think Shockwave is my favorite decepticon leader.

I like Shockwave.. But i dont think he would be the ideal decepticon leader. He is a thinker not a doer... OK he does alot of things but he would have needed someone to do all the dirty work for him i think..

PaladinPrime's talking about comic Shockwave, who could and was a great leader and he could do his dirty work by himself. Although I prefer Scorponok :)

I always figured that Starscream had support from the other 5 Seekers plus Astrotrain and maybe even Blitzwing, which would be enough to overthrow the bids by the Constructicons and Soundwave.

Chain of Command as I saw it:

Pre-Movie Autobots:
Optimus
Prowl
Jazz
Ironhide
Team Leaders (Grimlock, Silverbolt, Hotspot)

Pre-Movie Decepticons:
Megatron
Starscream
Shockwave
Soundwave
Scrapper/Hook

Post-Movie Autobots:
Rodimus Prime
Ultra Magnus
Kup
Perceptor
Springer

Post-Movie Decepticons:
Galvatron
Cylconus
Scourge

I would have flipped Jazz and Prowl around
I thought that Prowl was all tactics and thought, but Jazz was his 2IC, got the stuff done

Jazz didn't really do anything to imply he was high up in Autobot command, other than the roll calls in MTMTE. I was actually contimplating whether or not Ironhide should be ahead of him, considering Ironhide actually took command in Prime Problem. Prowl lead a handful of missions throughout season 1 and 2, and he was the go to guy when Prime needed advice on fighting strategy.

hummmm
maybe I was thinking of only MTMTE
I guess I just really liked the jazz character and then muddled it up
he was in charge of a moon base?
(of course so was spike and bumblee bee, so there goes that one)

and what "rank" do you think the 2 original cities had?
they deffinatly would have been important in a rank structure

You mean Metroplex and Trypticon?

I doubt they were very high up. They were definately the most powerful members, but their intelligence was lacking big time. I doubt Metroplex had anymore say in leadership decisions than Tailgate and Swerve did. And the post movie Decepticons had absolutely nothing to do with leadership decisions unless they were one of Galvatron's 'yes men'. Trypticon had to be dumber than most of the Terrorcons anyway.
