Real question is why did the statue of Optimus Prime have it in BM? Lazy sculpter or do they all use those discs to store information?

My theory about the Optimus Prime statue with the 2 golden discs in BM is that it is used to symbolize BM Megatron's desire to rewrite history. Since a good chunk of the 3 Beast Wars seasons revolved around Optimus Prime and the 2 golden discs, I'll take it as the creator's way of doing one of those "Out with the old, in with the new" type of scenes. So think of the Optimus Prime statue with the 2 golden discs as kind of a tribute to Beast Wars.

It's not a "stupid mistake". It was intended to be there as a tribute to the BW events. I always consider BW/BM to be the same thing, since it has pretty much the same characters and whatnot. Yes, there were different writing teams for both series', but I think it's common knowledge that most people refer to the BM stuff as BW Seasons 4 and 5.

The writer of the Beast Machines Episode where we saw Prime holding the Disks said that it wasn't in the script, and the animators put it in there themselves.

It wasn't the first time, they were the ones who gave Megatron a scar on his face, the writer had to come up with an excuse for it later on.
I'd like to say it's been nice knowing you, but I'd be lying.

Marv Wolfman shouldn't complain about that being in "Fires Of The Past". That is a very powerful opening scene in my eyes and I love it. I never noticed a scar on Megatron's face. Would that be his robot face or dragon mode face?
