Hey, I'd started to feel bad for powerposting, anyhow (I said so myself), so no outrage from me. Count me out in regards with any future "longest thread ever" attempts.

Pretty much. That thread was left alive for way too long... A real killer to Brendan's server.

I'd say Jim's a good mod too.

I know **** all about servers and whatnot but I'm guessing a 1000 page thread would suck up a lot of whatever in the end...

are you serious? Did you notice that this board keeps threads around for years before they are automatically deleted? You know how many pages of threads that is? 1000 pages is nothing. Actually I thought it had more to do with the fact that it's harder to get established in a community already complete with "older" posters and set in it's ways... there's a certain clique-y aspect there that I've never really liked.

It's true though... GD isn't what it used to be. Suppose it's a side effect of life, and us all getting older and a bit more jaded.
